Songs in response of other songs?

Leader of the Pack inspired a parody called Leader of the Laundromat by (perhaps it goes without saying) The Detergents.
Here's a YT video thereof, which may or may not "work" in any arbitrary region of the world :(

Hi,

I am looking for songs that are written in response to another song. To start with an obvious example: Lynard Skynard's 'Sweet Home Alabama' was a response to 'Southern Man' by Neil Young. And as a contra example: 'All Summer Long' from Kid Rock is not so much a response to, but a pastiche/re-use/rip-off (of the hook of) of Sweet Home Alabama (and Warren Zevon's 'Werewolves of London'). So that is not what I am looking for. Another example I can think of is '(I’ll Never Be) Your Maggie May' by Suzanne Vega, which obviously written in reaction to 'Maggie May' by Rod Steward.

What can you come up with?

And to our moderators, if I have put this question at the wrong location, or am violating some other rule on this, by now, huge site: correct me. It is easy to overlook here something.

And to everybody, please don't take this too seriously. I happen to like trivia.
"The Rutles" were the "prefab four". One can consider their (Neil Innes') songs as responses to Beatle songs, though not in any hostile or mean way - 2 & 3/4 of the Beatles loved it, one appears in the "Documentary" "All You Need is Cash":

"Piggy in the Middle" is their take on "I Am the Walrus". The opening lines are counterpoised to those of "Walrus":

"I know you know what you know
but you should know by now that you're not me."

I keep thinkin' of things.
I have long been under the impression that Bowie's All the Young Dudes (which made a lotta money for Mott the Hoople and also for him, I presume) is a parody of or perhaps a tribute to Hey Jude.

Pretty much every song John Palumbo's ever written for and/or performed with his band, Crack the Sky, is Beatles-inspired.
One of the more overt/obvious examples thereof is Animal Skins (from their second album, Animal Notes) which mimics Within You, Without You in its coda.

"Shine on backwards, oh masters of my fate..."

CTS also did some interesting Beatles covers, including I am the Walrus, in their live performances.

Again, apologies if the YT links don't work everywhere on the planet (or in near-Earth orbit, for that matter). :(

Peter Tork and Stephen Stills performed as an acoustic duo in 1960s NYC -- and Stills auditioned to be a Monkee, got turned down because he didn't have proper "TV teeth", and recommended they audition Tork, who got the job.
Yup. Thanks for adding that -- I (atypically) didn't feel like typing that much.

It’s such a great song, with a message that is pretty much the opposite of Hey Jude’s. i.e., Thing’s aren’t getting better, in fact you may as well kill yourself! It does sound Beatle-esque. It saved Mott’s bacon, that’s for sure! I saw Ian Hunter sing it with one of Ringo’s All-Star lineups.
