Neumann KH 310A Review (Powered Monitor)

K+H O300 had much bigger heat sink. It still run very hot at 18VA (18 watts?) idle. A silent noctua fan with rubber nipples was perfect fit and helped a lot.

(edit: ok dunno if it was much bigger. seems it's the same if you would rotate it)

A silent noctua fan ... helped a lot.
What did it help with? (i mean: what problem occured that has been solved with a fan?)

Does someone has an experience with operating speakers in higher than recommended temperatures? (I’m aware of Amir’s low temperature Neumann KH 80 measurements.)

Where did you connect this fan?
Just cut up some old DC charger (<5V) and connect both to it. Few volts result in nice low speed.

What is the typical toe-in do you use for your KH310 setup?

Directly on axis to the acoustic center? Or slightly off axis?

On axis is recommended by Neumann, i suggest reading the manual.
Vertical axis is more important than horizontal.

Yes - vertical dispersion is narrower than horizontal

If you use KH310 daily, do you switch off your KH310 nightly and turn them on the next day? Or do you leave them on 24hrs?

Curious what’s the general practice…

I turn mine off after each use. I use them about two hours a day, about four days a week.

I buy new ones every day and throw the old ones away, just for the fun of wasting ressources.
