I have one MX-630 and two MX-830, what items would be recommended to refurbish them?
I searched for a new relay once but the one I ordered wasn't the right one. I ended up just cleaning the contacts with a nail file and it worked fine. It's easy to take the relay apart. Took it off the board for easier handling.

That's it to be honest. It just works. But I do think it would be nicer without all that empty space inside but I guess the marketing dpt found it more butch if it was big..

Dude, that is one cool collection :)

Check out my todo shelf, these all have some small problems that need fixing:

Thinking about it, i haven't opened my A-S1200 yet. It#s in use, what can i say except that i'm sorry.

However, look what i got yesterday for 100€ and an hour in the car:

Seller said it worked a year ago. He had it powered up, there where LEDs instead of old lamps in there, so i'm not sure what to expect inside. Contacts and potis might need some work. This is not the original pic but mine looks the same or even better. Sadly it's not silver.
Expect pictures soon
Oh, yeah!!!! :)
It looks great in black -- no apologies needed.

I showed all y'all the Yamaha integrated that got me started in modern hifi way back in 1978, didn't I?
No matter, I'm going to show y'all again.

The photo above was taken at our old abode (a/k/a House 3.2) in Massachusetts. The CA-610II is currently packed up, but still 100% functional, still beautiful, and still sounds great to me.

It is impossible to surpass the CR-1000! The most beautiful receiver ever produced! :)

;)

It was, for its time, a pretty redoubtable component in terms of its performance capabilities, though.
I mean -- I do have one in the collection (the one in the photograph, which I took last night). :)

That gear is just aching for a going over and calibration and be ready for service again. :D
Yes, there is some work to be done. And new projects come in faster than existing ones get sold off.

What are the models?
Record player:
PF-50
P-550
P-550

CD-Player:
CD-450
CDX-10
CDX-10
CDX-10
CD-S300
CD-S1000

Tape decks:
KX-670
K-350
K-850
K-850
K-1020
KX-500
KX-10
KX-10

Receiver:
RX-300
RX-10
RX-10

Amplifier:
A-550
A-S300
AX-10
CA-V1
A-S1200

Streamer:
NP-S2000

Tuner:
T-420
T-550
TX-10
TX-10
T-1060
T-1000

I would say a third needs fixing, eventually two thirds have to go for new stuff, but it seems accumulating is easier than getting rid off. It's a hopeless hobby ;-)

It also comes down to if you service them and then the belts dry up in another few years or 10 years etc then it is service time again. One needs to be using them as curating is a full time job.

I know. But i enjoy it. The only regret i have is lack of time.

Gents, i may have bought a A-S 1200 just now for 790€, locally. I search on Hifishark for devices i think are cool and where i can be sure if i alert a friend he will be happy, usually i'm after A-S1000.
So it pops up for 750€. 15km from my house! Silver, perfect condition, no scratches, black wood panels, original box as well.
I wrote the guy a mail, but he didn't react for a few hours. So i bought it using the sites escrow service, costs 40€ extra. Had to find my Visa card too, as the service only uses credit cards above 500€ and they wouldn't accept the AMEX i always use.
Anyway, i wrote the guy that shipping is not needed, obviously i collect the amp myself.

So, what do i do with a second A-S 1200? :)

From where have you got the A-S1200 for 750 Euro, nice, the lowest price I found the A-S1100 was 1000 Euro.

I loved the Yamaha NS series from the very beginning. But I was not always faithful to it. Besides, I am not a collector. I don't like things getting on top of me. At the moment, I only have an A-S700, but I don't use it because my tube amps sound better.

I have a special affection for the CA-1000, in 1975 I worked for a Audio Store that sold Yamaha and so clearly remember that day when we received the new line of Yamaha CA's, CR's and CT's. To unbox the CR-1000 and put it on display was simply love at first site. I guess kind of like the first real true Girlfriend, I lifetime impression.
