Just wondering if there has been any news on when this will be released and what the cost will be?

One source (not Fosi) told me February a while back. Have not heard any confirmation re price. I am guessing they start to put out news about this soon.

I received my P4 from Amaz…de last Saturday. I paid 89€.
It works fantastically with my ZA3.

Regards
Chris

Looks great, but still no manual or info on the fosi website.
Does the bypass switch works only for the tone controls or both tone and volume controls ?
Does the pre out match with volume control ?

The switch bypasses the tone controls but not the volume pot.
The Pre-Out is affected by the volume pot, but not by the tone pots. Bypass has no influence to the Pre-Out.
I connected my Headphone Amp to the out.

The price for the p4 has risen from €89 to €109 on Amaz..

thanks a lot for your reply !

Not sure why there hasn't been more news re the new pre yet...it's still not on the Fosi website, even as a "coming soon"...maybe just their release schedule, giving some separation from the other new products that launched in January (pnono pre, gaming amp/dac)...

I just received an email indicating a Feb 19 release in the U.S. with sign up for a 25% early bird discount code good Feb 20-27.
ANNOUNCEMENT LINK

Question: The announcement indicates the P4 remote adjusts "Tone" in addition to volume. Does it control Bass/Treble? I purchased a Fosi MC331 and its remote does adjust Bass/Treble, but it is a terrible feature as the adjustment is independent of the front panel controls and there is no tone reset button or indicator so no easy way to return to flat frequency response.

Side Note: When I search Fosi P4 this thread does not obviously appear...if the OP could change the thread title to Include the P4 model number that might help bump its popularity.

I can't control the bass and treble at all with the remote, I've read again the manual in case there is a specific buttons combo, but nothing about that on the manual,
so no problem with unmatched front panel controls and remote control...
The remote, obviously, does control the volume. The front panel volume control is motorised when you're changing the volume on the remote, it's a very nice feature in my opinion !

Not sure how to change a title once an item is established...?

So, I've been told this thread/topic is "inappropriate" by the moderators. I plan to not post anything anymore. I'll continue to enjoy Audiokarma and HeadFi, I guess...

How does the gain work on this? Is one of the 3 settings passive unity gain?

@Fosi Audio Aww man... your P4 preamp is soooo soooo close! But you guys really should have included a quality adjustable high pass filter like Douk did on their amp. That's what the new breed of desktop 2.1 audiophiles need! A HPF is waayyy more important than tone controls. (We can EQ all sorts of other ways and dont really need tone controls.) I would have purchased this right away if it had an adjustable HPF. Maybe you can make an update on this later.

The gain switch on the back is selectable 3,6 or 9 db. This will allow you to use a wide range of input devices that have different output levels. For me I left it on 3. I also have a SCHIIT pre amp that is unity gain 1db and most of the time that is all I need, as i said it all depends what device you are using.

The tone controls are not controllable with the remote. For me its not a big deal, most of the time I run with the bypass switched on.
