Hello Everyone!

I'm using currently TIDAL app for music on my PC (win11) with copland DAC215 connected via USB and audeze LCD3 and fostex TH900mk2

i was wondering if i can use some EQ and if you can recommend any application that will work in mentioned scenario, thank you for any support!

Plus i was thinking to switch my current int amp/dac for maybe mjolnir3 with some other dac?

Thank you all for quick responses!

i have installed EQ APO but right now tidal do not works i have NDP00 error with describtion - unknown error while choosing device

i did not install any EQ visual addition yet

i did something wrong? i was going step by step with instruction, restart done etc

Welcome to ASR btw!

EQAPO isn't necessarily compatible with WASAPI OR ASIO drivers so if your DAC is using one of those it might not work. If you can switch to a different mode in the DAC's settings, that should fix it.

Otherwise try updating the DAC drivers and/or firmware and see if that helps.

EQAPO is the best option for EQ on windows by a fair margin AFAIK so it's worth some effort to figure this out.

i have currently COPLAND DAC215, and i did not installed any drivers. I think win11 did it, because device was working when i plugged it in. I just set it on 32bit/384hz mode

@Zakuman Equalizer APO does not work if you have enabled Tidal's Exclusive mode.

Disable that and it should work.

The LCD-3 has poor unit variation, so it is unlikely that a preset from the internet will work well on your unit.

I second using EQApo without Peace.

Here's how to load a Preset.txt file into EQApo: https://youtu.be/jkgcsVNTJvc

Attached below are oratory's EQ presets, converted to .txt files which you can import into EQApo by following the video above.

Also, please set your DAC to 44.1 or 48kHz in the Sound Control Panel.

Setting it to 384kHz serves no purpose and may actually decrease sound quality.

i still have technical issues, i will try this weekend figure this out.

i have 384hkz set due to sound issues on smaller settings ( few details are cut ) i do not know why, maybe it is due to win11

If your DAC actually has audible problems at lower sampling rates, it doesn't work correctly and you should get something else. There is no such thing as musical detail at 192KHz, this is higher than cats, dogs, and most BATS can hear, so whatever you are hearing is not in the recording.

That, or you simply expect to hear a difference so you hear it. This is common and happens to everyone from time to time. Because of the nature of high end audio equipment, it's important to be careful about hearing things that aren't really there. https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...ds/lets-share-placebo-effect-anecdotes.55067/

i quite understand how high frequency is that. However there is test button on left side and if i select smaller sampling then there is less sounds (this ding dong sounds). Additionally on faster music it is noticable, so i set to max. I can not even set smaller number of bits then 32bits

i set it now to 44.1 32bit, i will test it again

I am not saying it is impossible that there would be a difference you could hear, but there should not be one if the DAC is working correctly. In cases like this (if you care to go to the trouble) it is interesting to record the output of the DAC and examine it. :)

It's possible different output modes have different gain or something, in which case you would hear a difference. If anything else changes, I would call the DAC broken.

You could also do a blind test - put on a blindfold and have someone else switch the mode around randomly. See if you can tell which is which. Many members have stories of hearing something that went away when they tried a blind test...

i assume it was kind of bug, i do not see any difference now - even on test button - however i will try to check that more

and fix for sure APO EQ on my system
