Edifier R1280T Powered Speaker Review

Hello,
forgive my question if it doesn't make sense (i'm noob).

I just bought the Edifier R1700bt speakers.

Are these presets compatible with those speakers?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

Here is my take on the EQ.
The resulting EQ is very close to the initial seed i.e. flat LW with also abounds to the "easy to EQ" direction.
Using EQ APO or similar to keep with the low cost may result in a very cost effective system, within the SPL limits of the speaker.

No EQ score: 1.97

EQ design:
the EQ version needs to be boosted quite a bit for A/B tests so the overall max SPL may be lower than the raw speaker

Code:
Type Freq Gain Q
PEQ 95.5, -3.50, 2.72,...

PEQ 4718.0, -5.80, 3.88,...

Great gains:

But the vertical directivity is rather poor because of the high Xover point (similar to the Dynaudio LDY 5) :

best to listen off axis at +15/20deg

The rest of the data is attached.
I know this is an old post but I had a question, the eq is applied and the bass and treble knob are kept at 0 and 0 right?

I believe so.

EQ is applied to get the speakers more neutral and then bass and treble are set to taste.

Hello all.

Not sure about @Maiky76 , but you can find Amirs EQ at spinorama.org: https://www.spinorama.org/eqs.html?sort=date&reverse=false&search=R1280T

Usually you can also find some very good EQ variations in the first pages of the review thread.

This might be the right time to get a measurement microphone (such as a MiniDSP UMIK1) and REW and not only use EQ optimised for flat or preference score in an imaginary room, but optimize your own EQ-settings for YOUR room and listening position.
You will thank yourself later

Also: welcome to ASR :)

Thank you very much for sharing.

This file as one more EQ line in the end, did he updated the original one?
I apologize, please remove that last line from that file. I happen to add that once upon a time while testing it and forgot to remove it.

i'd like to use this EQ on my Android phone, but the frequencies are different from the one listed. Is there any to apply it?

i tried both viper4android and poweramp equalizer. The latter let me choose how many bands i want and the frequencies range, but the frequencies doesn't match what i see on spinorama

I just ordered a pair of these, second hand, for about $50, to use in my tiny bedroom "listening nook." I bought a pair about 5 years ago, for my office, and was disappointed, and gave them to my wife, for her office, and she left them behind when we moved. Anyway, back then I knew nothing of EQ-ing and presets, so have high hopes these will sound much better. Thanks to Amir for the review, and Maiky for the EQ. I've got it loaded into Peace, and am now impatiently awaiting the post man...

I just started my "serious" setup with a Marantz SR5013, 2x nubert nuBoxx B-40 for fronts, and SVS PB-1000 sub.

The Edifiers are collecting dust, which they did for many months as I didn't really use them.

I realized I could use them as rears (AVR has pre-outs)....or would that be silly using these as rears on an otherwise decent system?

For rear speakers the Edifers will be fine providing you have the right connections for rear operation.
