does anyone listen to Taylor Swift? tell me what the draw is

I like Taylor Swift's music. I especially like her later stuff - Folklore and Evermore; Midnights and The Tortured Poets Department are also nice. I watched the Eras tour on Disney+ before I canceled my subscription and thought it was well done - she is a consummate showwoman - she really knows how to work her crowds. I absolutely love the video Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions - I highly recommend it. I think she is brilliant; she has a beautiful voice, a real talent for songwriting, and is an intelligent businesswoman to boot. Just my two cents...

Yes I like the cover where her hand seems drawn to her happily bare crotch ouch what torture for a poet like her eh. But it is not mainstream enough, too rebellious, I was disappointed and how.

Taylor Swift songs are a formula.
1. Write a song about relationships, heartbreak and personal experience.
2. Repetitive chord progressions: reuse familiar chord progressions across different songs while melodies and lyrics are distinct.
3. Use one-note melodies in songs using tonic, third, or fifth of the key, particularly with verses and choruses. Sing one-note melody that stays on a single pitch for extended period, while rhythm and lyrics provide the primary variation. Rhythms of the one-note section should be intricate and driving, while injecting energy and groove into the song.
4. Signature production elements: Use the same producers (e.g. Jack Antonoff, Max Martin) across albums for continuity.
5. Deliver the entertainment with an extravagant dance troupe so listeners don't get too bored but some might still think songs sound similar.

OMG, Can AI actually do that?
I'm blown away if that's real.
Who needs humans?
Very scary where it'll be in 20 years.

I've never heard one note of a Taylor Swift song. I am what is known as a deadhead and have avoided pop music since the 70's.
Some non-deadheads have avoided pop music since the 70's when FM started playing rock.

Why is it relevant - was Joni Mitchell a virtuoso guitarist?
Not exactly. Her specialty is/was various open tunings. She also has a unique and highly developed skill in harmonic construction - if she chose to, she could have been on a path towards classical composition. "Paprika Plains" from "Don Juan's Reckless Daughter" is a good example.

Ha! Just looking at Timcognito’s pics, eh, Onan? o_O
Boys, Boys my post was about the phone camera and how to take pictures.

While it was always inevitable this thread would descend into outright blatant (and some quite nasty) sexism - I'm actually surprised at how long it took.
See is attractive in my view, so I'm sure that helps press and sales.

apparently the draw is her guitar chops.

As I’ve always enjoyed Darko highlighting the “Red Hot Chili Peppers” button in his gear reviews (it’s the”skip”button) I’m far more appalled by the number one spot.

Yea, no excuse for a 20 or 30 something performer.
It was SOP for 50s and 60s rock, they all lip sync'd :(
I've seen Henley and the Eagles something like 4 times over the years, he was a great singer/performer.
If he needs a little help today, I'll give him a pass.
I can't do a lot of what I used too either. ;)
