Laibach - (1987) Opus Dei
Masterpiece from the seminal martial-industrial band. Also known as "Rammstein for adults".

Kayo Dot - (2003) Choirs of the Eye
The new
maudlin of the Well (literally), continuing their experimental journey.
Mr. Bungle - (1991) Mr. Bungle
Another genre mixing first album from the band describing its sound as a mix of "Oingo Bongo, Camper Van Beethoven and death metal". With as much seriousness as Zappa.
Mortuary Drape - (1994) All the Witches Dance
Can only be described as occult doomy black metal. This band from Italy gave us something unique with an eerie atmosphere that compliment its harder moments perfectly.

Flower Travellin' Band - (1971) Satori
A very psychedelic and quite abrasive album from Japan. Kind of a less primitive
Blue Cheer, almost with a taste of proto-metal.

Joyless - (2011) Without Support
Previously a black metal band known as
Forgotten Woods, now doing incredible depressive rock. Not at all like
Joy Division or
The Sisters of Mercy, unlike what you might expect. This is their last album, a better introduction than the previous and less accessible one,
Wisdom and Arrogance.
Magma is an obvious one, should have put it in the OP.
