Coming soon: MiniDSP Flex with HDMI input

Thanks for link, I'd missed that the surrounds and backs are also swapped!
I didn't notice this, as I typically downsample 7.1 to 5.1; I'll check and swap those channels too.

Those 4 presets are valuable!

I just noticed an issue using the Flex HT for both HDMI sources and a PC directly connected by 8 channel USB: the Centre and LFE channels are swapped on Windows USB output.
Flex HTx uses HDMI mapping on both I think. Not an issue, but a decision I think.

Sorry to ask but are the channel routing fixed? Can I use this flex ht on jriver with dirac wdm vst plugin and for example do my 4.2 setup or 2.2 ? Or they are just fixed with 1 subwoofer channel? I don’t care about using Dirac in the unit But on my pc suite
Thanks

The Flex series has very flexible channel routing.
You can route any input channel to any output channel, as well as combine multiple input channels to one output channel.

This can be looked up in the Flex HT's User Manual, which I recommend you read first:

If I understand your question, channel routing is flexible.
Perhaps look at the manual, it is fairly comprehensive.

Didn’t know the mini HT has them locked up! The flex not, very strange

Mini dsp ht sorry
There is no mini dsp ht with locked up channel routing.

The only HT devices from miniDSP are the Flex HT and Flex HTx, both of which offer flexible channel routing.

Ok soo the advantage is the HDMI port , and both have flexibale channel routing? Sorry if I am confusing myself
All Flex devices (there are six) offer flexible channel routing.

The Flex HT's and Flex HTx's party trick is multichannel audio input via ARC or USB.

The other four Flex variants (Flex, Flex Digital, Flex Balanced, Flex Eight) only have Stereo input.

So it's clear, the Flex HT channel routing is not "locked up", it is flexible. Did you read the manual? We were asking you to look it up, not locked up!!!

The manual is pretty good with specific examples of channel routing, plus they have app notes on various implemntations, and a community forum.

So Flex HT is basically expanded (more flexible:)) Flex with HDMI input and 4 more outputs. Is there something Flex HT is missing comparing to the "just" Flex?

It has USB input. Can I connect my PC and send my stereo music signal to this USB input?

Flex HT is missing an analog input when compared to regular Flex. HT version is better as a front end to an all digital system but if you have analog sources or want to use it for the DSP between preamp and power amp you need the regular version. If one set of analog outputs on the Flex HT was an analog input I would buy it in a heartbeat but I think it lacks the space for ADC. A better comparison is Flex HT vs Flex Eight.
