Coming soon: MiniDSP Flex with HDMI input

Been using my Flex HTx for a bit now. Pretty happy with it. Still need to dial in the bass management levels a bit with surround, but overall it plays very nice with the Apple TV and my TV. I mostly use it for music, where it is pretty good too!

It does.

The Flex HTx turns on and off with the TV when the Hard is set to HDMI input. The 12 V trigger follows the Flex power state.

It seems like it ignores the TV on state when set to one of the other inputs. Don’t quote me on that last bit, I haven’t really tested it thoroughly. It makes sense though - if you are listening to music from other source you don’t want it to shut down when the TV is turned off.

Will a regular HDMI audio extractor work with the HT if I only want 2 channels? I'm using a monitor as a screen, and it doesn't have ARC/eARC.

According to miniDSP, it would work with such an extractor.
