Then I went into computer audio and the drives
Same here, but during lockdown I got bored, found one on eBay plus a new laser, hooked it up to my dac and reciever and now I enjoy the ritual of putting a CD into it and go through my old CDs.

I once owned a Mk II, and while it's form does follow function, beware if you got any OCD tendencies, because it reveals every speck of dust. Black acrylic (hello Goldmund) is even worse in that regard.

Same here, in the late 80s - 90s before I gave up on vinyl completely, I dreamed the value of used turntables would fall thru the floor and I'd be able to buy one on the cheap. But I wanted a linear tracking arm on mine.
Didn't happen. LOL

OK, don't think I seen any posts on cables....

I like the wooden block and the clear jacket which reveals the elaborate construction of the cable. Feel they look pretty cool.

What is that??
Canadian audio jewelry from the mid-60s - Sinatra, Hefner and about 400 other people owned one. It had an Elac or Garrard record player and sometimes an Ampex reel-to-reel player. The globes contain speakers. There are about 50 known samples left, these go for 22K-30K. Clairtone produced somewhat less expensive versions later on: the G2 posted earlier in this thread by @Adam Bernau, and the G3 with detachable speakers.

KLH model 20. About as mid-century modern as it gets. First "real" stereo I heard. Managed to find one many years later, used, for a a very low price as I recall. It was better in my memory than in the flesh:

Snake oil is not permitted, while bling bling yes :p

Lol... Btw, maybe cable manufacturers will include RGB in their cables. So your hifi setup will look very cool!! Maybe even amps will have rgb!! Yeah!!
