AsciLab speakers are about to launch

If they're not 'exciting' the room, then they don't have all the bass that many need.

Maybe you missed the word "less".

But adequate bass output is going to vary according to individual preference. The Harman studies showed less experienced listeners prefer greater bass exageration, rather than more downward slope- I think I actually prefer the former type of bass curve having grown up listening to it. Even then I dont think I would need a sub/s with the Sointuva in my listening space, and by tenuous extension the A6B.

Actually i dont use a sub in my bedroom with 8040b, but have 2x12inch and 2x15inch in my HT/Atmos setup.

There is considerable wisdom making small speakers with great bass extension to work in the average persons space. Ascilabs looks like they have nailed it.

Sorry to ask this question on this forum :) but have any hifi subjectivists listened to your A6B yet ? or for that matter, mastering engineers ?

Depends upon many factors not least the physical construction and dimensions of the room.
@Dogill has anyone ( apart from the ASCI team) heard them yet?

In South Korea, it is possible to listen to A6B, and as far as I know, many people have done so. Therefore, I assume that hi-fi enthusiasts have indeed listened to it. Not sure about engineers though..

I have both.
It really makes sense, you train your children not only not to touch, but to stop their playmates from touching.

You could add a detachable grill just for the midwoofer, like Amphion does in their Argon 3s

You would, presumably, need grilles for the A6B passive radiators as well if any are deemed necessary at all in a given situation. I'd imagine these would need to be fairly deep given the excursion capabilities of the Purifi components.

Grilles are not a concern for me. My daughters, and their cat, have outgrown any interest in destroying my possessions and are now working on my sanity.

Acoustically transparent fabric would be my preference, I'm also thinking about kitchens which open up in living rooms, extractor hoods are not perfect.

IMHO I think that the grills might degrade the work that Ascilabs did to control the diffraction since the grill might add a few mm to the edge of the countersunk woofer...
I would prefer no grills to enjoy the work that Ascilabs perfected.

I agree if a child is really determined then a cloth cover is not gong to be an impediment.
Laudanum, the Victorians swore by it.

individual covers for each driver that attache via hidden magnets would ideal. You can always remove them for optimal performance
