yep but they are extremely slooooowwwwww compared to just %1 of the speed of light (kinetic energy) and compared to the distance to our closest star , besides our own , have barely crossed the street . sadly , i see us destroying ourselves long before we ever even try to send people to enceladus or even have a successful settlement on mars . all this talk of people on mars in the next decade is just a death sentence IMO . and we all know what opinions are like , haha . and talking about terraforming mars for human habitation is BS (IMO again) . it has no magnetic field to protect whatever atmosphere we could produce if we don't destroy ourselves first .
fun stuff to think about and discuss though :)

If I did the sums right, Voyager 1 is moving at approx 0.05% speed of light. IM1 hit the atmosphere at approx 20% speed of light - so it is not unreasonable to assume that the Voyagers have encountered matter moving at a few % of speed of light.

It simply hasn't encountered something big enough to destroy it yet at it and the impactors velocity . It is amazing that they survived the asteroid belt though .

Tantalising sign of possible life on faraway world

Nasa's James Webb Space Telescope may have discovered tentative evidence of a sign of life on a faraway planet.
It may have detected a molecule called dimethyl sulphide (DMS). On Earth, at least, this is only produced by life.
The researchers stress that the detection on the planet 120 light years away is "not robust" and more data is needed to confirm its presence.
Researchers have also detected methane and CO2 in the planet's atmosphere.
Detection of these gases could mean the planet, named K2-18b, has a water ocean.
Prof Nikku Madhusudhan, of the University of Cambridge, who led the research, told BBC News that his entire team were ''shocked'' when they saw the results.
"On Earth, DMS is only produced by life. The bulk of it in Earth's atmosphere is emitted from phytoplankton in marine environments," he said.

Damn I was just about to link to this, oh well.
Hopefully Loeb is taking notes, he could learn a thing or two.

"But Prof Madhusudhan described the detection of DMS as tentative and said that more data would be needed to confirm its presence. Those results are expected in a year.

''If confirmed, it would be a huge deal and I feel a responsibility to get this right if we are making such a big claim.'' "

I was thinking exactly the same when I read the article :)

I wonder why that Mexican university only did the carbon dating? Why not other research on the things? The wording of the speech was very deliberate in obfuscating this fact and made it seem as though they did a lot more research.

I would not be surprised if the uni didn’t even know what they were dating…

If they are so sure about this find? Where are the research papers? Where is all the evidence? All we get is a speech and a few crappy photos of some puppet in a coffin…

Can anyone find a full transcript of the talk, preferably translated?

Ancient 'Non-Human' Alien Bodies Found in Mines, UFO Expert Says

The guy has previous...

Jaime Maussan

In June 2017, Maussan was involved in the analysis of 5 mummies discovered in Peru at the region where the UNESCO World Heritage Nazca Lines site is located. The images of these findings were initially aired in a documentary sponsored by Gaia, Inc. and it allegedly shows a crouched mummified body of a humanoid figure with an elongated skull and three fingers on each hand and foot.) Snopes reported that Maussan "led an event called Be Witness, at which a mummified body — purportedly that of an alien — was unveiled. Later, though, that 'alien' discovery was debunked. The mummified corpse was shown to be that of a human child.".[4]

On September 13, 2023, he unveiled two alleged mummified "alien corpses" to Mexico City's Congress during a public hearing on UFOs. He stated under oath that the mummified corpses were found in a cave in the state of Sonora, Mexico and were believed to be 1,000 years old.[5][6] He claimed that scientists at the National Autonomous University of Mexico who concluded that, in his words, they are not "part of our terrestrial evolution" and that almost a third of their DNA is of "unknown origin"

Trying to read the full transcript now, translated by ChatGPT…

Looks like a lot of the so called tease arch was paid by Gaia.com, which is.. let’s call it “interesting”

They state that DNA analysis was done, and that these things are non-human.

So-called implants contain copper and osmium, the later cannot be found in nature in Peru. They link it up with use of the stuf in satellites and telecommunications. Sounds cool, but you can also find it in fountain pens and guess where the band name Osram comes from (yeah, they used the stuf as filament)?

They also claim to have found fetuses within the bodies

If any of this is true, it’s truly a major discovery, but the evidence so far is thin and the hyperbole is massive. That’s not really how one would start such a discovery.

If you really found alien bodies, you'd have the most reputable scientists around validate it. You wouldn't go straight from digging things out of caves to the center ring of a media circus. Especially since they've pulled this scam once before, this is... a scam.

I see no ears so they can not hear differences in cables.
A waste of species
