Adding Trinnov Optimizer to 2.2 home theater?

I think there is good consensus that
1) Room
2) Speakers
3) DSP

Is what makes the biggest difference in sound, in that order.

I don’t think there is any such consensus Alan! Maybe you could say that “given an ideal room, focus on the speakers next and then DSP”? But for most people the room is pretty fixed and not ideal.

So, given the room and speakers you have, adding DSP is probably the most cost effective change you can make. Then subwoofers if you don’t have them, then maybe change the speakers if they have poor directivity control. Then room treatment last because DSP and decent speakers and subs are both cheaper and less intrusive visually.

I have a Trinnov Altitude 16 running a two channel set up. After hearing the speaker demo from Pro Audio Technology in Los Angeles, California it was clear their speakers were exactly what I wanted... And then they told me about the Trinnov running their entire system. There was never a doubt, risking my retirement fund to purchase this stuff was going to happen... But it really does sting the pocket book. Currently I'm running two subs and love the cohesiveness. I'm just in the beginning phase of learning REW so I'm looking forward to figuring that out and applying treatment to my listening room. Side note: I use Apple TV for Tidal and you can for sure use the apple remote for everything (volume, changing/searching for songs, Neftflix, etc) EXCEPT the on/off button does not turn on/off the Trinnov nor my TV, which is a bummer. The TV goes dark for a few seconds when you hit the power button on the Apple remote but then it comes back to life so it seems like it wants to work but just can't:(. I have an email into Trinnov in an effort to see if anything can be done to make it work. Feel free to message me if you have any more questions about the Trinnov with 2 channels.

Amazing, you have inspired me to seriously look into getting an altitude 16 now.

Does fan noise bother you at all?

Sadly, I do hear the fan. One option is to put the Trinnov in a different room... But then your apple tv remote volume won't work (because the Trinnov needs to be within eyesight) so you would need to use the volume control from the Trinnov app on your phone or computer... Which I personally don't care for. It's not as pleasant to use as the apple remote.
