I enjoy my wonderful Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 for over 2 years now, which is something special actually, as I normally switch my gear way more often. Somehow I really grew fond of this little device in ways I didn't expect. The functionality is just great; streaming (Tidal/Spotify connect, Chromecast Audio, UPnP streaming, Bluetooth, you name it..), MQA for those who want it, HDMI eARC works flawlessly, RoomPerfect is nice, but better still are the extensive customization options within this device, especially regarding the EQ functionality. I run the Lyngdorf as a 2.1 amp with my JBL 4309 speakers and SVS SB-2000 subwoofer. You can set individual low-pass and high-pass filters (they don't have to match) with 2nd, 4th or 8th order Linkwitz or Butterworth slopes. The speaker and subwoofer outputs can be trimmed with their own offset. For equalization, there's an 8-band PEQ for the pre (subwoofer) outputs (parametric, high shelf, low shelf, high-pass, low-pass with variable Q factor) the same 8-band parametric EQ is available for the speaker outputs. On top of that, you can create your own voicings, which (surprise) uses the same 8-band parametric options as mentioned before. Actually, that makes for a massively 24-band EQ from 20 - 20.000Hz.
And now here comes the kicker.. That crossover can also be set to 2KHz, or 4KHz, or whatever you like! You have 19,980 options to choose from ;-) So, instead of a subwoofer, you can connect a nice power amplifier onto the pre-outs of the Lyngdorf, grab yourself a pair of 2-way speakers, rip out the passive crossovers and connect the tweeters to the speaker outputs of the Lyngdorf and the woofers to the speaker outputs of the power amplifier and create your own 'active' system. You will lose the options to use an subwoofer ofcourse, as there's only one pair of pre-outs, but it's something I'd like to experiment with as soon as I can.
