Maybe someone should find a pair of these speakers, and attempt to replicate the claim
In the old days, it was quite common to see amplifier requirements/power ratings on loudspeakers to be crafted in very similar language.
It's lunchtime now -- but, obsessive person that I am, I'll scare up a few examples anon. :)

EDIT: OK, not quite an example, but perhaps still illustrative :) An AR ad from 1988.
