Those remind me of bolts holding down a huge water utility tank in California (I think it held about 600,000 gallons or thereabouts). Earthquake hit. Whole tank jumped and stripped enormous bolts like these 18 inches vertically. The other enormous bolts holding up a bridge span (the San Mateo Bridge) sheered off entirely. Never underestimate what an earthquake can do!
