To me it looks like the cups are of the old HE400i variety with that purple sheen. The Deva has that weird protrusion on the bottom of the cups.
Gonna start calling the founder Dr. Fangenstein, making his monsters out of spare parts.

I think that protrusion on the bottom of the Deva is so one can attach the bluetooth mini module. Makese sense they would leave that off. But maybe you are right

If this is the DAC you are referring to, you can read Amir' Summary, which might help you decide.
Yep I have read it already, it's just that I'm not sure how to interpret it. When he says distortion or background noise, I don't know how much it is, is it that noticeable?
Thanks anyway!

For US buyers...
Listenup.com has their Cyber Monday sale for 15% off site wide, using code CYBER15.

AVRs to grab while you can...

1. Denon AVR-X3600H
Typically US$1100 on amazon.com but was US$800 several times now, and currently shows US$800 at listenup.
I'm assuming that the code with 15% won't apply since listenup already shows it's on sale?
Amir's review.
According to live support: out of stock

2. Denon AVR-X3700H
Typically US$1200 on amazon.com, and currently the same $ at listenup.
With 15% off, it becomes US$1020.
This makes it the best deal of all places I've seen so far, as amazon never had this on sale.
Amir's review.
According to live support: 3700's have been on backorder for about 6 weeks..

3. Denon AVR-X4700H
Typically US$1700 on amazon.com, and currently the same $ at listenup.
With 15% off, it becomes US$1445.
This makes it the best deal of all places I've seen so far, beating previous deal at US$1500 on amazon.com (during Oct 12-13 sale).
Amir's review.
According to live support: 4700's are on order

4. Denon AVR-X6700H
Typically US$2500 on amazon.com, and currently the same $ at listenup.
With 15% off, it becomes US$2125.
This makes it the best deal of all places I've seen so far, beating previous deal at US$2375 on amazon.com (during Nov 11-17 sale).
Amir's review.
According to live support: 6700's are in stock

5. Denon AVR-X8500H
Typically US$4000 on amazon.com, and currently the same $ at listenup.
With 15% off, it becomes US$3400.
This makes it the best deal of all places I've seen so far, beating previous deal at US$3990 on amazon.com (during May 1-12 sale).
Amir's review.

Not sure if Amazon's prices fluctuate alot on these items, or there was a mistake when I ordered. But, I bought the x3700h for 1203.82CAD(915.27US) on September 17th. I just assumed thats what they went for, as it wasn't on sale at the time.

Passive Tower (for US buyers):
Kef R5
Normally US$3000/pair, now on sale for US$2318/pair (23% drop) on amazon.com (lowest price ever)
Available in Black, Walnut, White.
3-way tower.

Measurements for R5.
Amir measured R3 (bookshelf).

Third-party seller, not Amazon. And that third-party seller looks very questionable. May not be authorized retailer, may not have warranty.

Adorama 101...

I recently started looking at Adorama deals, so it's all new to me. But I thought I'd share in case anyone else didn't know...

Here's a regular link to "HiFiMan HE6se":
https://www.adorama.com/hmhe6sev2.html
Shows price is US$1,799

But if you add
?emailprice=t
to the end of the url, you can quickly check if it's on sale (which usually comes in the email newsletter).

Here's the same listing:
https://www.adorama.com/hmhe6sev2.html?emailprice=t
Shows sale price of US$699 (or 61% off).

Neat, eh?

Wow! Talk about markup! I've often thought the actual manufacturing cost of all HFM HP was very likely similar. $1799 list. $699 'sale'...and probably costs the same to make - or close to it - as the 2-sided wired Deva at $219.. Maybe $50 difference in the type of magnets. But what else? Unicorn Unobtanium traces?

RE: Hifiman HE6se v2 - Because Adorama is the only retailer for this model the suggested retail price is almost meaningless. I believe the original Hifiman HE6 retailed at $1300 quite a few years ago...and I think the HE6se V1 was about the same (that was also Adorama exclusive I think).

So I guess $1800 is their guestimated value figuring inflation into the HE6 price, and not figuring that nearly all headphone prices have dropped a lot since the HE6 was released in 2013ish. Certainly more than 95% of the HE6se V2 Adorama will sell for $699.

Side note, my research lead me to this only briefly available HE 6 variant with decidedly different cosmetics ;)

Active Bookshelf (for US buyers):

Cyber Monday Discount (24hr only)?

1. Edifier R1280T
Was US$100, now on sale for US$85 (15% drop) on amazon.com (good drop, but was US$80 in Sep).

2. Edifier R1280DB
Was US$130, now on sale for US$110 (15% drop) on amazon.com (lowest price this year)

3. Edifier R2000DB (wood)
Usually US$250, now on sale for US$170 (32% drop) on amazon.com (lowest price this year, previously on sale for US$200)
Deal looks HOT. Anyone willing to ship this to Amir?

4. Edifier R2000DB (black)
Usually US$250, now on sale for US$195 (22% drop) on amazon.com (lowest price this year, previously on sale for US$200)

I'm not seeing other Edifiers on sale, so it looks specific to these models.
