I have some Sonus Faber Lumina II that I am trying to sell on ebay. Getting watchers & views but no queries or sale. I am looking for some idea/views what I am doing wrong? They are less than a year old and in perfect condition, what can be wrong?

Any help would be gratefully received

How long have you been offering the speakers?
Have you specified shipping costs for UK?

4 Ohm impedance will/might turn away some people. The price in my opinion is more than fair.

If you discover how to sell more loudspeakers please let me know.
Keith

Thanks for the comment. I have set uk shipping at £10.
they have been up for 2 weeks

In my experience, selling used stuff, not audio related, there are only two ways of selling:
- fast and cheap
- fair price but slow
2 weeks don't seem much to me.
Second to this, pics also help. Yours aren't too bad, but not too good either imo. My tricks were a lot of light and clean pictures (=without other stuff on sight)
Ah, posting a thread like this could also help :p

I know Brexit is the best thing since the invention of fish&chip's for 12£ a pop, but making them available to the EU will get you a few million more potential buyers. I still buy from the UK from time to time, it is a very simple process on eBay. They do all the tax& customs stuff for you. You only need to fill in the right data and ignore nothing asked.
Price is quite low. So that is not the problem. More the market situation with people buying food first, HIFI later. Show the bill with purchase date. It helps.

Price new is around 1300€ a pair in EU inc. VAT

You need to be a little more patient.
These are speakers that a buyer specifically chooses. The sale can take a while. The price is perfectly fine, don't think about reducing it.

I would advise you to advertise the speakers in the UK in online classifieds and in UK audio forums. These are different buyer groups than on eBay.

Price seems ok and two weeks is not that bad. I've seen very good speakers just standing around for a long time for no particular reason.
Are there any local shops that would sell them for you? Or trade in? Local forums? (I sell almost everything locally in audio forums.)

In general, eBay sellers, particularly those with some emotional attachment to what they are selling, project a higher demand level for their items than there actually is.

Lower the price by 30 percent and see what happens.

You are listing expensive (to most) not well known speakers with collection only and live in Glasgow.

That's what I've experienced too. You either have to wait until someone who is looking for that exact item stumbles across it or price it so that someone that wasn't looking for that specific item suddenly thinks they might need it.

@Moonbase
That would be a stupid idea.
Either someone is happy about an incredible bargain or, which is not unlikely, the buyer offers the speakers for their current price or at a higher price with a little more patience.

Who the hell are you? Your post is stupid.

Someone with several decades of experience who doesn't want others to fall flat on their faces.

You showed everyone else who you are and what level you are at with your post.

@Moonbase
In fact, the SONUS FABER LUMINA II are not often offered and are not often sold.
I have attached a screenshot of 2 pairs sold in 2023, both of which were sold to the UK.
Your price is already cheap.

btw, you have a typo in your ad, it is version II, not 11.

Selling used gear has become a lot harder. I blame all the new possibilities out there. There is A LOT to choose from..and that tends to confuse newcomers to the hobby..or indeed someone who just wants a set of great speakers.
Pictures though are altamount imho. The times I’ve spent a little extra time setting up gear so as natural sunlight can reflect off of surfaces and create the magical ‘twinkle in the eye’ were incidentally also the times the gear got unloaded incredibly fast.
Putting some greenery besides speakers like a plant or something to that effect can also pump up the aestethics…which really shouldn’t matter, but it does. We shouldn’t underestimate the power of sight.

Also 2 weeks is nothing. A sale inside a month is what I personally consider fast…unless we’re talking a brand new hyped up release that everyone is talking about.

It's hopeless to sell used HiFi in the summer, even if it's almost autumn now. Better to buy HiFi in the summer, however. People spend money on things other than HiFi during the summer. Holiday trips with all that that entails in terms of expenses, for example. Also, nice sunny weather. People are more outdoors. Interest in hifi and listening to music increases in autumn when it is more cozy to be inside. That is my experience anyway. Listened to music with speakers, that is.

Of course you can sell your speaker immediately if you lower the price, but if I were you I would remove the ad and test and sell them in a month or so.:)

Edit:
To smear heavily with positive adjectives or not, that is the question. :);) I did that with your sales text and it turned out:
In mint condition. I have had these quality built, fantastically well performing speakers for less than a year. They sound incredibly good.
But now I'm (reluctantly) selling my SONUS FABER LUMINA 11 (with a tear in my eye) because I've received an offer for a pair of floor-standing speakers I can't say no to.

That is the question, is it too much to say reluctantly, mix tears in the eyes in a sales ad? If it doesn't feel real then it's not good, but on the other hand if you really experience it that way? :)

If it is not mentioned in the ad text if they are to be sent, I always add: I pack them well.

In the ad add: In the case of a quick deal, the price can be discussed (downside, it can signal desperation).
It can be a hell of a negotiation, but that's what I did when I sold my speakers. Again a matter of taste. What you are comfortable saying and doing.:)
