STREAMER AND DAC COMBO

Good evening to all forum from Milos island Greece,

I write you here as I need your help regarding a new dac/ streamer one unit with Screen, that I wish to add to my system...
My Setup :
PRE and POWER AMP PARASOUND A21
SPEAKERS TRIANGLE AUSTRALE STRATOS SERIES
ATLAS CABLEs. Hyper...

My budget is till 1500 euros maximum, better 1200 but I gave 300 euros more just in case...

So before some choices that I have in my mind just to tell you that my Triangle speakers hit a bit the Trebles so do not need a dac clinical and full analytical one but one more full warmth
and more analog sound character... if we could say no mush detailed but something more musical and easy listening....

so I have check some options and I put in my preference list .....

1. Cambridge Cnx v2 Dual Wolfson DAC. Not MQA
2. Cambridge Cnx 100 Sabre
3. Primare prisma sc15 Akm
4. Arcam st60 Sabre
5. Eversolo a6 ME Sabre
6. Project
or anything has Akm dac chips as I thing is more natural and musical than Sabre.....

so I leave in Greece so we do not have the possibility to listen all of them ...

I will be glad to hear the options for the people that they have heard them and according the character of my setup ...

If you want to spend more, take a look at the Eversolo.

Well made streamers and DACs don't have a sound character, just neutral transmission of the signal to your amplifier.

The WiiM Ultra does include PEQ, which will let you tone down that treble you talk about. It has not been reviewed yet, so take that into account, but the signs are good.

More money will not bring you better sound.
It will bring different features, and that may be important to you (like balanced output).

The Eversolo has been reviewed and well received here.

You can't tune a hot treble with a dac. Just EQ it a bit lower until you're pleased. The problem is your tweeter response, not anything else, Triangles tend to be that way.

Eversolo has everything you need in a nice package.

Even the WiiM Pro+ would be adequate from the perspective of the DAC being transparent enough and would give you the needed EQ capabilities with a solid ecosystem and app experience that keeps getting better with every firmware update. The WiiM Ultra will do this too of course, just a matter of what features you need/desire.

Adding an external streamer to your system should primarily be about the app and user experience there - that's how you'll be interacting with it most of the time. See what the other streamers on your list bring to the table in that regard.
