Welcome. After following ASR for about 4 years I have finally joined the fray today. I was on an HOA board(unpaid) for seven years; although not the same job as moderator, I have had to act in such capacity throughout much of my time served. Please never lose sleep over the comments -- the sane group is far larger than the occasional squawker sputtering nonsense. The majority are here because we respect differing views and praise quality. Keep us on track and on subject as our minds stray and our lips get ahead of our brains.

Yes, we all need the gentle hand of a parent, moderator or police officer to let us know we overstepped our bounds. Sometimes it took a good spanking (speaking from experience) to adjust our attitude and fly right. I am grateful also. It is easy to get caught up standing for an invisible line drawn in the middle of the Sahara.

Kept my avatar for continuity but will likely replace when I come up with a better one. It is a yin-yang abstraction and is intended to convey more than the traditional 2 element aspect. As it is meant indicate broader thinking than a simple “us vs them” mentality, if that was your takeaway, it worked as I intended!
