New mysterious Genelec monitors

Just realised that they are fully closed. Explains the 3dB lower SPL than 1235A and need for twice the power. A bit of departure from their usual ported dogma.

Probably that's the amps it's using.
Can't locate the specific ones but they seem to have some serious power under the hood:

(12000 watts ones are more than tempting!)

two days is a long time, so here a highly scientific extrapolation and interpolation

btw: do you notice that 8381 is not 'ultimate' 8391?

As much as I wish this were true, there is no way the 8381a will cost 7500 euros. Just looking at the BOM alone, considering all R&D put into it and the industry margins from distributor to dealer, I think we look at least at 11999 Euro each and likely close to 15000 Euros. Time will tell.

It's been mentioned many times that 1235A is 45k€/pair, these will not be below that. The spreadsheet is completely out of whack.

He uploaded two pictures, the first is the estimated price based on the other models of the ones, the second is the estimated price based on the Genelec main monitor, the second picture is more reasonable.

I stated 'highly' ;)

https://www.audiopro.de/de/173.html listed prices for all models some weeks ago, now they are mostly gone. Price for 1234 and 1236 are rounded but correct, but i do not remember for 1235, this one is estimated.
Again, 1235A is 45k€/pair. Why do you think this would cost less, having more drivers and massively more amps? Or that it would be anywhere near 8361 which is a dwarf compared to it? Not even in the same league, "point source" or not.

I do not expect that these 'calculations' apply at all.
We only can estimate and wish. I estimate 25k to 50k and wish max. 7500 per piece.

RAM in the model does not refer to RAM Audio. 1237A RAM-L amplifier has Pascal amps:

Those aren’t the amps, Genelec Ram amplifier modules are proprietary. $7500 isn’t realistic though for sure. Given 3 x 15” woofers, 4 x 5” mid domes, new generation 5” coax, required amplification and dsp, massive cabinet etc.
These may be more expensive than 1236A…new flagship and all.

Oops, sorry then,I was just reading this and search turned with only Ram audio.

Edit:
Pascal looks a lot like the new icePower Edge ones, who stole who here

These new Main Ones look incredible! I think I will need to visit Genelec factory at some point to audition these :)
Most likely these will be more expensive than 1236A...
