Yes, like I said - all other things save for cone size being equal, a larger driver will have its breakup modes lower than a smaller one. Some are better controlled than others. Doped paper is particularly good about it.It is very much a question how good these modes are controlled. Even Purifi is pushing for bigger drivers now. For their current 2-way, Genelec uses a very innert coated paper cone with high Mms. As Anselm Goertz wrote, they sound fantastic and measure so. This is strictly a result of precisely a low crossed tweeter and a high crossed mid-woofer.
Also - which two way Genelec are you talking about? The S360? That demonstrates exactly what I'm talking about. Low crossover + horn loaded compression driver tweeter is the way around doing 3 way designs if you want a large bass driver without serious directivity (and distortion vs breakup) consequences.
