Movies Worth Owning

As long as the movies aren't dubbed it's fine. Have you watched any other of his movies yet?
Nothing dubbed, but did use subtitles for the last 3 in Night on Earth, Mystery Train.
So far...
Dead Man
Night on Earth
Coffee and Cigarettes
Ghost Dog
Down by Law
Mystery Train

Perhaps the Zombie Flick tonight

The Dead Don't Die
Kylo-Ren riding shotgun with Bill Murray

Trapped in Jarmusch Time Tunnel Tunnel Tunn...
From the mid 80s fast forward to this 2019 project, ripping Rodriguez's opus Planet Terror (which belongs on the ownership list).

Not exactly sure what I just watched, in BD, thank you very much. Laugh out loud scenes mixed with some real cringe, dunno if satire or woke catering.

Did I say Kylo-Ren ?? In a tricked out Smart Car ??
Or Selena Gomez hanging with Austin Butler.

Stranger than Paradise, easily the biggest let down, granted early work from 83. Interesting thread and contrast, young Eszter is back as Fern in Dead Don't Die, 36 years later in 2019. Quite a study of his evolution, and with a solid handful in-between.

Thanks for the heads up. Nothing dubbed yet, but have used English subtitles, as needed. Interesting to note on both of these compilations, DVD and BD, there's mix of regions and formats. Stranger BD was UK Region 12 and I had to adjust my player.

Jarmuschpalloozza repeat viewing award, even better the second time around. More of everything. My face hurts from laughing.

This is a wonderful little film… very low budget., that I find inspiring.

Just see it, please!

The Criterion restoration of Red River (1948) is totally worth buying.
Especially as it contains the theatrical cut preferred by Hawks, which is sadly not the version that has been generally shown on televisions and DVD editions.

being a lover of Mel Brooks, Leslie Nielsen, Eddie Murphy, Gene Wilder, and in Italy Paolo Villaggio, Lino Banfi, Renato Pozzetto, Alberto Sordi, it is clear how I like comic films and comedies in general. To be noted, “Il Marchese del Grillo” an absolute masterpiece….

Speaking of courses, I

could see a semester of Jarmusch. All incredible movies, surprisingly, a

favorite has been Limits of Control.

What did you think of it? It's been so long since I watched it that I don't remember it well. I remember that I watched because I really liked his previous movie, Primer, and I remember being disappointed with this one in comparison.

I like Man from Earth, not sure if I'd go so far as to call it inspiring but I appreciate the simplicity of it. It's mostly dialogue in one room, but maages to still be very engaging.

I guess that on a page where Primer and Man from Earth are mentioned, Coherence should also be mentioned. It's a great mystery film that I think more should give a watch.

Saw Coherence and others pop up, but was heading towards some reviews of Upstream Color before finally watching it. I was on the fence after Primer, 3rd viewing beginning clarify. Watching both so closely together I think helps the UC experience, which I think is a better movie. Beautifully filmed, certainly not for everyone, an art house masterpiece. Tried to avoid all the later Shane Caruth drama but was aware going in, now I'll take a deeper dive and learn why we won't get his third movie. Definitely looking forward to a second viewing of Upstream Color, where many mainstream movies are easily discarded after or during a single watch.
