Emil Berliner Studios https://emil-berliner-studios.com/en/ has many services and has their own YouTube. They are a B&W house. They continue to remaster A_A to vinyl. For this original recording from 1977, they combined tracks from 3 tapes to the lathe.

(Illustrates cutting from 3 original tapes plus an acoustic echo chamber, the stairwell, which I have seen in other studios)

There is a DG Stories Channel ASR readers may find interesting

There are reviews out there for the individual Original Source releases, and more videos by the Emil Berliner Studios, Deutsche Grammophon, and others.

The original release of the work is available on YouTube.

This is currently one of the most fascinating activities in this field for me and the two engineers Sidney and Rainer seem not only highly competent but also very likeable.
I have ordered the Mahler disc but am still waiting to play it because I have reactivated my father's old MC cell (Coral MC-81) for this purpose and am still waiting for the delivery of the new MC preamplifier. I mean, everything just has to be as good as possible, doesn't it?

Have the Mahler 6th and a few other Original source. Although Mahler is not a favourite of mine, these sound quite good.

I wouldn't expect too much from the MC-81. According to the German Hifi-wiki it was produced between 1981 and 1986 so it's around 40 years old. The damping rubbers must be hard by now and certainly need to be replaced. The needle might be worn down as well. If you still want to follow down this path (which in my view makes not much sense with classical music as ground noise and dust are much more audible due to low signal level, except during crescendos) I recommend a new AT MC-pickup, like the AT33ptg/II.

@LTig: Thank you very much for your valued input. My specialist, who thankfully has his shop just round the corner, said that although the needle of the MC-81 is indeed a little worn, the cell is otherwise fortunately still in good condition. I have made a note of the AT though!
