JTR Noesis 212RT Measurements

Nothing like answering a two year old question. :)

Jeff did send me a prototype speaker. I don't know if he ever decided to finish it so I did not publish the results. It was a single, coaxial driver. Here is its response:

Based on description and listening, that seems similar to the 110HT series.

They need to be up against a wall or ceiling for low-end extension down to 80hz, but that's how most people use them.

I find that the wide directivity and good verticals are really nice for surround/ceiling use.
The wide directivity gives a more immersive experience and covers more seats.
The vertical directivity ends up being a big deal, since seats are often vertically off-axis to surround and ceiling speakers.

I solved this (for 1 row of seats) with the right kind of speaker mount. Can use a 2-way speaker and have it perfectly sweep the whole row of seats in its horizontal axis.
