You are correct: confused. In my defense, however, maybe Denon could have called their new SACD player (the DCD-3000NE, and it only really plays less than 50% of SACDs) something that differentiated it a little more from a turntable sharing the last 7 characters of the model number as exactly the same, and 8 of the 9/10 characters in total! No wonder the search engine looking only for a CD player came up with a link to this discussion! Sorry!
