Genelec GLM Review (Room EQ & Setup)

No, I set it a lower level so that when the DAC output is at full level it’s very loud, but don’t blow my head off.
My volume control is analog, before the input to the genelec "system".
So I can play quite low (and blow heads if needed :) ). But the question is if its better to keep the GUI/digital volume slider to 0.0db??

Is it just me having issues saving my settings to GLM-cloud?

I'm getting the message "could not upload setup file to cloud" since many months back. I've tried every possible way I have found searching the matter, firewall permission, creating new setup files, logging in/out, change computer.

Cheers!

EDIT:
I might have solved it. It seems one only can have 2 setup files in GLM-cloud and I tried to upload a third setup file.

EDIT2: It is possible to have 3 setup files.

Same here. I gave up saving to the cloud because it just doesn't work properly. Refuses to save into an existing slot (overwrite existing settings) and then you cannot even empty that slot anymore. Very buggy.

I had to manually copy my preferred and tweakd group to a new setup file and then I was able to save to the cloud. I also used the support button within GLM and asked for a complete wipe of existing files on the cloud. The thing is and your right, I still cannot save the old setup to cloud efter that, so it is corrupt somehow.

I don't really need the cloud, but sometimes I use GLM from another computer.

New version is a little buggy. System sleep/wake issues mostly.

If you are using the 9301b volume control, the cord can be extended with a standard 3.5mm extension like this from amazon. Genelec support was unable to confirm if it would work or not. 6 feet does.

I'm connecting to 7360/8330 digitally from a RME ucx II and am surprised to realise that ISS sleep function doesn't work unless the ucx is also turned off, because its clock will interfere. Is this correct? In contrast, Neumann DSP monitors can go into standby with the ucx still on but no signal detected, regardless of clocking. I was already aware that glm needed to be disconnected for ISS to work however.

Do we know how many dB headroom GLM reserves for DSP?

DiracLive is supposedly 10db.

You can put up to +6 dB into the Notch X+ type filters and into the LS+ / HS+ filters. As you can stack filters, GLM seems to refuse the filter if the summed gain exceeds 6 dB.

Dirac seems to vary based on the measurements. I have it on 3 systems. One is -12.5, one is -10.5, and one is -10.

I asked Genelec support this question, and they could not confirm so I thought I would add this here.

I found that the very nice 9310b rotary dial knob comes with too short a cord. It plugs into a 3.5mm port in the back of the Genelec SAM kit. A normal extension cord like this got me another 6 feet and I have noticed no performance issues with the dial.
