The old main system is making way for the new. See also.
These aren't TOTL or glamorous speakers, but they did sell for 4 figures in the 80s and IMO sound pretty reasonable with some room correction.
They can get very loud (power handling = 500+?) and go quite low (solid into the mid-30s) for a 2-way, and have pretty crisp imaging and detail thanks to what I assume is a pretty sophisticated crossover for the time. They took whatever EQ I threw at them and didn't flinch, I ran them full-range with a sub and was able to get pretty reasonable rom correction done.
Overall they are in very nice condition, with the exception of some chips in the cabinet near the floor. Grilles have brown cloth and are in great shape.
These are B&Ws from the era before they leaned into non-flat house sound. They don't really hold a candle to my LS60s... but they do sound about as good as any vintage box speakers I've heard.
Asking $500 OBO. Local pickup / delivery in SF Bay Area only, these weigh about 50lb each and would be a bear to ship.
Based on the look of them, I think the surrounds and crossovers may have been restored at some point. However, not being the original owner, I can't confirm that.
Overall, I hate to see them go... they have both charm and decent sound, but I simply don't have space for them in the new place.
