I just meant that because the WiiM Ultra isn't balanced out of the box, that I could get it half way there with the optical out to a DAC with balanced XLR out. Then there's the inputs, which will be RCA or digital but no native XLR. I suppose one would simply use the digital inputs negating the need for XLR inputs.
I agree with the other member that if the entire system only has balanced connections for all analog signals, it’s a fully balanced system as far as I’m concerned. The digital portion need not be balanced/differential. I mean…theoretically if your DAC had AES/EBU input and your source had AES/EBU output, then you actually could have 100% balanced fully through from digital to analog, but ASR will tell you that AES/EBU should not perform any better than single-ended coax anyway.

I’d like to put a high pass between my preamp and these as described by Troels, but am unsure of the input impedance on these guys for calculating values. Has anyone found that number yet?

Can someone confirm the following power supply dimensions? Is it same for 48V/5A and for 48V/10A?

Quick question on balanced input impedance:

Is it from each input to ground? Or between the two inputs? I think the former - but am not sure.
I have the same question as that is usually defined.
And it should with such a low impedance

Fosi just initiated a "pre order" program with 20% discount code EBV3MO20 on the V3 monos, if anyone is so inclined
I have preordered 2 V3 MONOs with the 5A power supply, they dont offer op-chips now, I am not sure if I can get the 20% discount when they release.

Just a warning for all who are still waiting for their package: I received this fraudulent sms (checked wit UPS).

The timing is quite interesting, as my order should arrive in NL about now, so maybe others will have the same issue.

I feel dumb asking but I ordered the 5 amp psi also. Why is the 10a cheaper ?
Because you are only getting 1 10A PSU in place of 2 5A PSU's

commande 2028 expédiée (commande 14 juin), informations pour les retardataires.

but mail to follow ship is really in late, 5 days, so already in Paris.

The CPU of my NAS is at 47°C when idling. Just saying...
The case is 43 deg, I have not measured the chips in the monos. I am using Smart plug and Auto trigger to minimise the amount of time the monos are running warm, nothing more.

I get these shady messages, with absolutely garbage URLs like this, about 2 or 3 times a month on my phone, and hundreds or thousands a month in my email spam folder. I mean it could be related to this project, but more likely it is from one of any of the millions of data scraping websites. These scammers cast a very, very wide net and with the huge number of potential targets they broadcast to, eventually they get a few unaware targets to cough up credentials or money.

My Mono's arrived in France after just 7 days of shipping. They sound amazing. Using 2 x 10A PSU.
Received mine today. Very well packed - if someone had done a Mexican hat dance on it nothing would have been broken - never underestimate the importance of bomb proof packing.

I got (3) items when I was only expecting (1) a pair of Muse which I may or may not try. Now to open up and see how best to use the laptop cooler which should arrive at my local pick-up in a couple of days. I don't like gear operating at high temps. I first used a PC cooling fan 15 years ago to cool mosfets and power resistors in a hybrid amp.

The best surprise was no import duties or customs handling charges - thanks Fosi for doing business thinking of your customers - chapeaux!

Without realising it Fosi have created a very good convection cooling system - instead of using the units flat, use them virtically, they are stable. First remove the pretty but useless orange pieces (they slide out) and place the units on two pieces of any suitable non magnetic material 10-15mm wide/25 mm deep/80-100mm long. Once the units are in opoeration they will naturally create a convection current (heat rises) with cooler air being drawn in from the bottom.

Fosi could easily create a couple of pieces with secure clamping features making the whole arrangement completely stable. They could have done this from the beginning so that the toggle swtches etc. operated virtically along with the logos and then they would take up even less space.
