Hi, here is my above reply in English: “Hello, in any case Hypex or Purifi will have higher performance, both in terms of power and dynamic range. I am writing this having both systems in my home : Purifi>Focal 926 (91.5db given by the manufacturer, but 88db measured on audio.com.pl) and 2x Fosi V3 mono/48V-10A>ELAC DBR62. The question is whether the difference is worth the extra dollars to you. On my side, I chose to have both: Purifi/Focal as my main system and Fosi/DBR62 for background music in the dining room.”

Another cooling option - Aircom T9 - fits four Fosi V3 Mono amps perfectly.

I set the Aircom on Smart, 23 degrees Celsius and.... that's it, works like a charm.
The Aircom blows the air from its three powerful fans upwards, towards the Fosi's.

No matter how you slice it, these amps are space heaters. 39°c, 104°f. Warm to the touch.

Just pleasantly warm to the touch :)

And remember if you add a fan driven cooler you are making the heating worse rather than better as you are still dissipating the same heat from the amps plus in addition the heat generated by the fan itself.

That’s definitely an interesting idea:-).

I think it may depend on the physical setup and the use case.

My situation - 14 awg ofc speaker wire, 8 Ohm bookshelf speakers (all 4 - Dolby Atmos Heights), watched 2 episodes of a show with breaks for more than 2 hours.

Before I turned everything off - barely warm to the touch, like 36-37 degrees Celsius.

I heard these amps against m'y McIntosh
There are not bad, they do the job but frankly, not even come close to a Mc
A used MA6700 is sold for $5,000 CAD+, and a brand new Fosi for $165 CAD x 2 (if stereo) = $330 CAD.
Not to mention 200 watts vs 120 watts into 8 Ohm and class AB vs Class D.

Given the above, not sure the comparison is extremely informative:-).

They are very competitive against my restored MC225, 30's, 240 and 2105. I love those amps, but if for some reason I had to sell them tomorrow and live with the various Fosi amps I would have no issue.

Have you tried blind testing? Not disputing what your ears are hearing but one can experience a lot of confirmation bias when comparing mutli thousand dollar Mc gear vs no name little cost Chinese boxes. IMO of course.

Even if it could be confirmed blindly that the McIntosh sounds better... Well I'd say it's only doing the bare minimum of its duty considering the cost and prestige.

But for how long will the fosi deliver 200 watt into 8 ohm before they go up in smoke without extra passive and active cooling on the amps and psu ? :)

So you agréé that some gear cannbe superior ti other gear?
Obviously, some equipment may be superior to others, but

A) sometimes the improvement is instrumental but not detectable by ear.

B) Without a serious blind comparison, impressions of what is better or worse can be very misleading.

I think simply given 120 watts into 8 Ohm, their best use case is NOT the main full-sized stereo system.

Excellent (imo) use cases:

1) Desktop audio: a decent DAC/Pre + 2 Fosi v3 Mono + a pair of nice bookshelves

2) Additional channels in mutichannel HT setup (in my case + 4 Dolby Atmos heights)

Not all amplifiers sound the same ... usually by 2 reasons:
- have bad engineering (too high THD / noise, non linear response, etc)
- is out of their capabilities (power, temperature, speaker impedance, etc)

when that stuff is ok, yes, they all sound indistinguishable for the human ear, it doesn't matter the price tag or the quality of the case

But, you need to compare with levelled gain and without knowing what amplifier is playing ... in other way your brain will activate the "placebo effect" to make you happy.

You can find thousands of experiences in the internet with blind listening... and always the results are shocking.

Excellent points, I was about to say "No, a class AB will sound different from class D", then I saw "blind listening"... and I didn't say anything, as I am simply not sure at all I would be able to tell one from the other:-).
