lol, but you know that this is only to protect Kickstarter against claims from users, which is generally very right, because Kickstarter cannot be responsible for the fulfillment of the declarations by companies offering their products because it has no control over them. This does not mean that the companies themselves no longer have to fulfill their obligations, or that this failure to fulfill their obligations cannot be criticized and as a customer, I have to endure everything with a smile on my face, and I sincerely feel sorry for every fanboy with such an attitude. The company could have reacted somehow immediately when any criticism appeared before the end of the campaign, but now it is obviously too busy xD I will tell you a funny story. There is a certain YouTuber I like. YouTuber wrote a book. When you preordered, you received an autograph, a fridge magnet and a bookmark. And somehow, a debutant writer publishing for a small publisher of several people managed to send several thousand copies of the book within a few days of the planned premiere. There is also a band that I like, and they also planned the premiere of their album with preorder bonuses, but here it was not so beautiful. Two weeks before the planned premiere, I was informed that due to errors at the pressing plant, the pressing would have to be repeated, and since the pressing plant now had to fulfill other planned contracts, I would have to wait a few weeks. After some time, the band sent word that the album was at the pressing plant and would therefore be released in a week. and now imagine my shock when a small niche band somehow miraculously sent several thousand different products (vinyls, CDs, T-shirts, and other promotional materials) to all pre-orderers within a few days of the premiere. Then there were messages that orders placed now would be processed in two weeks because additional printing was necessary. So when someone declares that the shipment will take place on a given day, it is absolutely obvious that it will take place within a few days from that moment, maybe a week, at worst two, but if it has been going on for the third week without a word of explanation , then this is simply ****** service and I see absolutely no reason not to express my opinion on this matter. However, if a fanboi thinks it's cool when a company treats him this way, that's his business and his choice.

Fanbois to fosi???
LOL

I better not express my full view about these little things or fosi as engineers (at another thread I had to explain to them what an electronic crossover is) ,solely out of respect to the people that backed them.

The only thing I try to point out is not having great expectations, that's the opposite of being a fanboi in my book.
And another, watch what you sign for, specially the fine print.

Was it in the fine print that a renowned company like Fosi Audio would not give out any (useful) information after the end of the campaign? You might expect this from a bad start-up, but not from Fosi...

imagine that even if the company hires 50 lawyers to protect itself against every eventuality, or the bank puts 50 prohibited paragraphs in your contract for which you will never be able to hold it liable, or if some country generally has ****** consumer law, you still have every right to stigmatize such practices and to demand better behavior than the minimum permitted by law.

I have had a couple of messages from @Fosi Audio and it seems they are just using the Kickstarter system to update customers about orders.

With regard to my order, the issue is with the filter that they have offered as an extra. Supply from their supplier is delayed. It seems they have also had delays for the 10A units.

I agree their lives would be made much easier on this forum at least, to post a general update after a week or so of no general communications.

However I'd observe their modifications to the v3 mono unit design, possibly in light of feedback from influencers on youTube etc (a unit failed under stress testing), and I have the impression that they are making every effort to properly fulfill all the orders ... made more difficult possibly by their enthusiasm to increase backers (with extra offers, opamps, power supply filters etc.)

I also get the impression there might be language issues with an employee, not necessarily an engineer, one might encounter when communicating with fosi :).

I'm impatient too. I've asked for my 10A an 2 monos to be sent ahead of the filter ... but they did not have to offer this.

Before you go on endlessly about this could you please go back and read the conditions and deal you signed up for and reflect on how well your remarks actually tally up with what you accepted.

Regarding the delay caused by the power filter: it’s interesting to see that it’s impacting people who ordered a 10A power supply for each amp, as the initial communication seemed to indicate that the filter was designed specifically to address issues when using a single power supply with two amps.
This surprised me as well. I replied to that message with the note, that I ordered two 10A supplies and not one. Their reply? "Thank you for your suggestion."

I am not annoyed, but sad, since I'd really like to use the amps NOW. But I can sit it out. It's a Kickstarter. That's the way it goes. Though I am backer #56 or something the like... (2 monos, 2 10A PSUs)

Yes I got exactly the same "Thank you for your suggestion." but I went straight back to them (politely) and got this straightaway:

"Will try our best!!!"

There are language issues. Probably using a translator from Chinese into multiple languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Swedish, Portuguese, Japanese etc etc etc.

Rewards aren’t guaranteed, but creators must regularly update backers.

When you back a project on Kickstarter - that is what you are doing. You are not making a purchase. If the project fails, you will get nothing and may well lose your money.

Your reward not arriving quite as soon as. you hoped - you are lucky. Some projects have been delayed years. Some have never delivered.

But I think we can all agree that some communication from Fosi here at Audioscience would be helpful. I'm not asking for anything more than a short statement ....
If a statement needs to be made for any reason I’d rather it be through Kickstarter than on a forum. At the moment I don’t see the need for one though, as shipments started when planned and based on backer comments they appear to be continuing. If any shipments will be delayed for any reason, like those with 10A power supplies, then yes an update through Kickstarter would be great.
This does not mean that the companies themselves no longer have to fulfill their obligations, or that this failure to fulfill their obligations cannot be criticized
This is what’s so bizarre about the direction this thread has taken — Fosi DID and CONTINUE to fulfill their obligations! Rewards started shipping right around the time Fosi estimated they would, and as the daily “I got my tracking #” posts here, on Kickstarter, and at other forums indicate, they’re still shipping rewards as planned. This all seems based on a misconception — as evidenced by your book and record examples — that backing a Kickstarter is the same as placing a preorder. It’s not. The expectation that YOUR amp would ship on June 15 was not warranted.

My expectation would have been that No 4 would get its devices sooner than No 1800...
That was probably a mistake, for which I apologise.

Not a mistake. That promise helped Fosi create urgency around the launch.

Fosi is an online retailer as well as a manufacturer. They can be expected to be capable when filling orders.

The first post in this very thread is quoted extensively in Fosi advertising and they have credited members here for design ideas. Fosi has posted to this thread along the way to answer concerns, although far less since the end of May.

What surprises me is the view that because they used kickstarter their responsibilities have evaporated. I’m sure they don’t see it that way. They aren’t some commercial novice that’s proposed a bicycle bell that checks your email they are a company with numerous product lines and dozens of products. Fosi used kickstarter to better estimate demand and, importantly, to lock in commitment.

I have no issue with those saying Fosi would do better to continue posting here and who have noticed that Fosi haven’t delivered on their promise to the earliest backers.

Did they actually open the campaign with a promise that early backers would get early shipment? If that’s the case, I take back everything I’ve said here, and agree an explanation would be nice. I was fairly early — in the 40s — and certainly don’t remember seeing that I’d be getting any benefit beyond a lower price and a t-shirt, but maybe I missed something.

I think a more honest assessment of the views expressed here is that the responsibilities are different with a Kickstarter, not nonexistent.

Yes, they said they would send them in order of receipt of support.

A couple of folks in the past few pages have said that on kickstarter you may end up with no reward at all.

It is technically correct; with Kickstarter fundraisers, the rewards are NOT guaranteed. Of course, there should be a realistic expectation with a company like Fosi that you’ll get your rewards sooner or later (of course, preferably sooner).

I just wanted to let everyone know I received my reward today, I was backer #24. I received everything that was promised (2 amps with 2 power supplies, t-shirt, and 2 op amp chips). I have tested both amps and they are functioning. There is slight hiss coming out of the tweeter on the speaker I've been using to test them, but it's a Klipsch and extremely sensitive and I'm using a headphone to RCA adapter out of my computer, so I'm not surprised there's some background noise. I'm planning to test them using a couple extra sets of Magnepan speakers I have lying around before using them in my main system, but so far, so good. The only negative I would say is that I was NOT informed the amps were delivered. I received a tracking number from Fosi and checked this morning, but there was no update. Fortunately, there was no rain and the package was not stolen off my front porch. BTW, my last name starts with a "B" and I live in Ohio.
