Is there any chance we will experience app problems in future because android becomes outdated?
It's literally one of the two most popular OSs out there and based on Linux. It's not becoming outdated for a long time.

@billou5767 I don't think I fully understood, but I think what you're basically saying is "It's fine, it'll work correctly". Is that right?

@Gyosa1 Interesting! I didn't know that was reported back. Cool.

Ive read this entire thread plus many more. I’m down the rabbit hole lol I need help.
I have a home theater system with separates, Anthem AVM70 and Monoprice 9X amp and Martin Logan XTs. I currently airplay Apple Music straight to the AVM but airplay is limited to 24/48. So I’m wondering how to implement a streamer to get better sound. Do I only use a streamer as a transport with direct connection to utilize the AVM dac so I keep room correction and bass management OR get a streamer with high end dac and bypass the AVM dac but that loses room correction and bass management. Uggg how can I get a better sounding 2ch with bass on my current system?? Is there a way?? Thank you guys in advance!

Hi,

I currently have a benchmark stack (DAC3B > LA4 > AHB2) driving a pair of KEF Reference 1s

was considering adding a streamer given increasingly getting more and more digital music
Would this A8 be a good solution to add to the system? or shoudl I look elsewhere?

Thank you!!

The A-8 is good but purely as a streamer a Wiim model pro ,pro plus/ultra would be cheaper and just as transparent.

I've been reading this site for a few months and it's been very helpful to me. Thank you to everyone. I just registered to make this post to ask for some advice.

I am a past/pre digital music listener and lover and am getting back into the hobby. I am solely a 2 channel listener and I have no desire to use anything but digital music as my source and also want to listen to my music in my car and through my phone. I have a stand alone 2 channel amp and speakers and currently listen through an old receiver and a cheap CD player which I don't like but would like to build upon/replace (but mostly I listen to my stereo pair of Sonos speakers and apple music for the convenience). The DMP-A8 seemed like a perfect solution for me gain the convenience of my Sonus setup in my main system, until I read 2 reviews that said the tone control/EQ resamples hi-res down to 48khz audio. I do a lot of tone control adjusting so this is an important feature for me. I heard the points being made about not being able to hear the difference between hi-res and 48khz, for the purposes of my question I'd like to ignore that. Which is, do all hi-res streamer/preamp/dacs resample the music down to use tone control/equalizer? If so, is the only way to avoid this to go the separate preamp route? If no, does anyone have recommendation for other steamer/preamp/dacs at this level allow tone control/eq without downsampling the digitial music? Thank you.

Firstly it is a non issue, secondly there aren’t that many dacs that have built in peq, Weiss, RME, Eversolo, MiniDSPthere must be others.
Eq is also available in software Jriver and Roon for example and in some contemporary loudspeakers.
The new Quad preamp will have some some basic tone controls.
Keith

I think the 48khz may only represent the sampling rate for development of the FIR filters from REW. Those filters serve to basically develop the PEQ values to apply to the music, like sophisticated tone controls.

My thinking is that the music itself still retains its higher rates.

But then, I could be wrong on this....

Thank you for the information. The Quad is of interest and I am going to look into it further. Maybe I need to get past tone control as I embrace digital. When you say "it is a non issue", is that because it is difficult to tell the difference between hi-res and the 48khz?

Hi i want to buy soon an eversolo dmp a8 and connect it to my vintage philips fa960 via rca.

I read that the output sensitivity RCA on the eversolo is 2.6 V but the sensivity input on the philips is 150 mV.
Can i set the volume on max (0dB) on the eversolo ?
Or is it better to do the math and set the max volume on the eversolo to -24,78 dB ? And can i enter that number on the eversolo ?

I don't want to arm the amp or the speakers thanks in advance !

Hello. I am delighted with the new function, but unfortunately I am not very knowledgeable about technology. I have DMP 8, after learning about the correction from the update I ordered the microphone Microphone Umik-1 Minidsp. The instructions indicate that the program for it can be downloaded from the site, it is for Windows. I have to connect it via USB to Eversolo and run the correction function. Tell me please, how can I install the program for the microphone in Eversolo? I do not understand what it means " For best results, use a umik or other calibrated mic with its associated correction file loaded via SMB"?

Hello. Probably yes. The instructions for Eversolo say very little. Let's say I connected a microphone to Eversolo, the program for it is downloaded from the site for Windows. How do I move it to Eversolo? I don't understand it well, unfortunately.

You can use smb on your computer, or a flash drive, ......or ignore the cal file at first until you are comfortable with adding it. It makes minor tweaks.

Good morning, I have owned the DMP-A8 since March. My chain is made up of a Musical Fidelity M6S preamplifier and Hypex NC502MP power amplifier with Polk_R700 speakers and Audioquest cables. I recommend this machine for using streamers and DACs. The internal preamplifier is not up to par, for the rest it is a superb machine the sound is rich and articulate the internal DAC makes it dynamic with a deep soundstage organicity and separation of the instruments... Furthermore with the latest update it provides the calibration of the verse as in the dmp-a10. There is no machine on the market with this quality/price ratio.

In my case, with amps like yours, I retired a CJ PV5 and a BAT VK3i, I don't consider it a preamplified either, but if the power amp is enough for it, the 4 volt output...

How do you compared the A8 internal pre and MF MS6? I'm interested to know why the internal pre of A8 is not good?

Imagination.
