Speaker pops when switching source after adding Eversolo A8

Hello all,

I’m scratching my head trying to figure out why my speakers starting to pop after I added Eversolo A8 to my system. I have Simaudio integrated amp feeding my main speakers, AVR pre-out to Simaudio for movies. Now I have Eversolo A8 into the mix - using both RCA and XLR connected to Simaudio for experiencing the two outputs but when I watch movies - Simaudio is in bypass mode so AVR controls the volume , A8 standby, when I change AVR source, say ATV to OPPO player, there’s a pop coming from the main speaker but not center or surround.

If I remove A8 from the system (unplug power cable), the pop sound is gone. But with A8 in standby mode, with either RCA or XLR, in volume throughput or not the pop is there.

Any idea what’s the issue and how I can get rid of the pop sound? Don’t really want to unplug the A8 when not in use as that will lose the convenience of airplay. I might add a smart plug to A8 but still not ideal.

Some DACs behave that way when switching sampling rates. I’m not too familiar with your streamer, but mine (Wiim) has a feature that fades in and out when detecting different source materials or switching tracks.

So get rid of the Eversolo....plenty of other gear that is competent.

Thanks but don’t think that the issue - it’s not the streamer a8 switching source, the streamer is standby, and when I switch the source for my AVR the pop happens.

Yes that could be the solution but I just got the A8 and kinda likes it so just want to see if I can resolve it maybe there’s some magic settings that I’m not aware of. If it persists then definitely I don’t want to keep it.

Maybe some hdmi CEC feature is trying to see if the eversolo is on.

Consider reporting to Eversolo on their forum, if bug confirm they might be able to fix it in firmware.
