Gonçalo Salgado - better known by the alias Lake Haze - knows a thing or two about world building.
The Lisbon don’s third Shall Not Fade release sees him experiment with a sound that differs from his last: an ode to the retro, computer-love aesthetic of chiptune and video game music.

Whilst tracks like the uptempo ‘Xyleac’ and ‘Bbyncole’ centre on playfulness and fun, others deftly tease out the style’s potential to be emotive.

‘Diluspth’ and ‘So45101 - 51 - 16’ are stripped-back with the latter adding a shuffly drum pattern which brings a certain groove.

Earworm melodies and synth-laden arpeggios drive ‘Flhewn(303)irio’ and ‘Dith6xove’

but ‘Shores Of Eternal Life’ and ‘Blue Suzuki’ are blissfully amorphous, letting ambience do the talking.

! you have good taste favourite. real best mzansi style. imo. I had another Lochive one open in a tab for months, thought of posting it in the Food thread because it's at a restaurant with typical food - same city, shisanyama /braai /barbecue but a restaurant instead of outdoors or carwash.

Oh you're from there? That's amazing. I did not expect to run into someone here from there, though I wasn't quite paying attention to where this was to begin with, I must admit. Yes, she does good DJing! I listened to 2/3s of it, I think, and another upload. I just follow the YouTube recommendations, half the time, hardly understanding what I have clicked on...

You ought to go to one of her shows sometime, if you haven't.

Yeh, the one I got to a couple months ago, maybe it was at youtube Suggested. At first I thought it was the same video because it's also in front of a window overlooking the bay, and her dress looked the same.
I think she also plays in Johannesburg, which is about 600 km. from here but she's based there in Nelson Mandela Bay FKA Port Elizabeth...I think it's about 1000 km. I bookmarked the restaurant page and some food photos, going to put them in the Food thread and link back here. It's good to have context. ...Lounge bar style.
