Do Any Audio Accessories Actually Work?

Are there any audio accessories that are actually worth spending time investigating that can be proven to influence the sound we hear?
I installed a phono carbon fiber mat and a carbon fiber head shell brush and I am sure the phono sounded better after.

Looking through reviews here they all seem to get slaughtered, but surely there must be some 'science' behind Jitterbugs, USB Purifiers, Mains Conditioners et al that relates to HiFi equipment.

Or are they all really just trying to scare us into solving a problem that does not exist with well made products?
The snake oil purveyors do use science but it is usually perverted into something that does not need to be solved as in they create a fear and a issue and then sell you the solution to the issue they invented. Jitterbugs, USB Purifiers, Mains Conditioners are for sure snake oil but they solve a issue that does not need solving or they flat out don't do anything at all.

Optional accessories that have, at various times, and for various reasons and purposes, enhanced performance of my audio systems:

Vacuum cleaning device for LPs
Electronic stylus pressure gauge
Zerostat pistol
Portable oscilloscope
Audirvana
Periodic appointments with an otolaryngologist to get my ears cleaned
Cannabis gummies

What brand of optical usb cable did you buy?
The only recent discovery I've had really good results is going to an Optical USB cable into a powered hub. Noise floor dropped to zero and putting the hub nearby I can use shorter USB cables for best performance and locate the hub away from all interference. Running currently on a Topping A70Pro and E70 9028Pro DAC in 5 volt mode and literally couldn't ask for anything better.

Hello Fellow Spendthrifts,

Once we have spent all our hard earned on fabulous equipment.

The particular part " must be some 'science' behind Jitterbugs, USB Purifiers, Mains Conditioners et al that relates to HiFi equipment" is telling. Why would there be science behind bullshit? That is even an opening proposition for you?

This one works! Keeps my iPad / remote control in the phase-correct angle….

How to determine if an audio accessory work:

Ask the seller how they perform production testing to avoid sending faulty units
This is a comment that deserves some thought, not just when it comes to silly accessories...

As for accessories per se... I recommend a headphone stand, and masking tape to mark speaker and listening positions.

I ate $25 of chocolates and I don't think I felt anything. The dose is too light in Canada.
$25 worth of edibles should get you in orbit around Neptune! Dollar-wise that will get you 150mg in Cali, which AFAIK is more than you're allowed to buy in one transaction. I had a friend eat about half of that by accident one time (funny story, really) and he was out of commission for about 16 hours. Either you have a herculean constitution or they're selling bunk at the local shops. :)

If memory serves me correct the legal dose per package of chocolate(s) is 10mg/package and each package was ~$6+. I did not get anywhere the dose that he had but I wish I did... LoL.

10mg is enough for the average punter, 40mg puts most people on their butts... but they sell them 100mg at a time for a reason, some people just aren't impressed with average quantities... :D

I have a high tolerance for stuff like pain, booze and cannabis. So I suspect I need a bit more THC to get the effect when eating it. Even magic shrooms I can eat a 1/4 ounce and get buzzed but not like other people explain with hallucinations and stuff like that.

Audio technical stylus cleaner, rubber feet, sticky wool pads under speakers, heavy triple lined theatre curtain. That's it for my setup.

Fans keep your electronics cool and that is a real method to ensure their longevity.

If you're into vinyl then it's essential you have some sort of "Now Playing" display accessory or else you have zero credibility with the hipsters.

I made mine out of a Medium Norton India Oil stone.
