Those are the engineered limits at Xmax and thermal limit, yes. You dont have to like it or agree with it, but one thing it is not is subjective.
 
More sounds like you have no particular idea of how things work and use some different subjective impressions at different times to somehow compare.....good luck with that.
He's referencing my work. LDLC is an engineered limit both thermally and in compression of the driver and the amp, dsp that drives it as well as the enclosure that reinforces it.

Here are a few articles I wrote. Honestly, compression is not that big of a mystery, even Erins Audio corner has measured compression magnitude and AES75 marks it as a metric.

Subjectivity has a place. We can't help but employ it, every single day of our lives. I employ it to enjoy my audio system, and I see that you employ it to enjoy your audio system. I'm glad that you enjoy your audio system. I'm sure that you're proud of it.
But ... subjective impressions given to other people with no data are, at best, ambiguous. More commonly, they are misleading, since subjectivity has no factor of reproducibility.

For reviews like that, there are dozens (or even hundreds) of YouTube sites and several subjectivist publications.

Well thanks for the lessons in why ASR and Amir are different—I’ve been a supporter and member for awhile and enjoy the predictability of using math to help me narrow my potential purchases.

But in support of Harbottle/Funk, where that math/measurements fail is in judging expensive high-quality subwoofers. Measurements do not exist for comparative “qualitative” comparisons.

Below is from James Larson the principal reviewer at audioholics who is the last remaining standard reviewer still using CEA2010 ground measurements. It says it best. I have two Perlisten D215s but wanted to add ULF to my room. I decided to purchase Harbottle from all my research to augment my low distortion Perlistens. It has succeeded in spades with at least a 7hz measured by my calibrator Jeff Mery who blended the Harbottle with my D215s using the Trinnov’s active speaker summation technique.
