Here is a measurement of Denon PMA 1700ne from the soundstage, https://www.soundstagenetwork.com/i...ts&catid=97:amplifier-measurements&Itemid=154.

Since I am about to get a Denon 1700ne next week, I am reading its review and measurement in the meantime to know more about it. The performance of digital input and phono pre is not very good compared to separate products but it looks like it has a very good analog performance regarding its price for a class A/AB amplifier. Does anyone have a second thought about it? I was trying to read it with Amir's standard of measurement but apparently, soundstage uses something a little different so I need extra input from other people to confirm my belief.

Noise is what’s most important. At 0 dBW (2.83V), the PMA-1700ne gets 90.6 dBA SNR. The Marantz Model 30 (Hypex NC500) is only 81.3 dBA.

The Boulder 866 hits 93.5 dBA.

The Marantz Model 40n is 93.4dBA though!

If the 40n is powerful enough, it should be pretty good!

That said, Stereophile didn’t get the same performance when looking at the Model 30 vs 40n when A-weighted.

This is interesting since if you read the link I posted from soundstage though it is not in 0dbw but for 2vrms in, it has a very impressive SINr. I have read the measurement given by the hi-fi news but it is not as near detail as the one given by the soundstage, I was trying to find what Stereophile is going to say but it looks like they never review the amplifier at all. I am also reading the reviews of the other amplifiers at about the same price from soundstage.

If you are in the U.S., consider having Amir run some measurements by drop shipping the item to him (after coordinating) to have him run the numbers while you are still in your return/eval window.

I'd love to but I am a step away from US, aka Canada and considering the unconvinenet national shipping this is simply impossible.
