Hi,

I am looking for an amp with USB and phono inputs to drive a pair of Focal Vestia N°4 and was considering those two options. The Atoll IN200 Evo is listed at €1,800 (but will need an upgrade if I want to be able to connect a turntable), whereas I can have the Yamaha R-N2000A for €2,600 (discounted from €3,700). Otherwise I've seen those online that match my criteria but I haven't been able to try them:

€1,399 = Audiolab 7000A
€1,490 = Technics SU-GX70EG-S
€1,590 = Musical Fidelity M5si
€1,590 = Yamaha R-N1000A argent
€1,790 = Denon PMA-1700NE
€1,790 = Atoll Electronique IN200v
€2,149 = Rotel RA-1572MKII
€2,299 = Audiolab 9000A
€2,330 = Taga Harmony HTA-2000B v.2

Any thoughts?

Guessing nobody loves you;) Jokes aside. Just came across your post and am kinda, like you, interested if there is anyone out there with some experience with vestia in general when it comes to amplifier. Have the N°2 myself, and am currently playing them with the m5si, with, so far, good results.
I am though, intrigued by peachtree's 300. Might be something for your self to check out.

So any help is good help in my book.

Hi,
I probably can't help much. It's tricky to evaluate amplifiers without having measurements - subjective assessments are not really reliable.

However,
I'd avoid that Atoll https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/atoll-in200-measurements-any-good.36182/

The Yamahas; are well regarded here. Nice amps
The others also make good amps, but I just don't have the information to help you.

See if you can find reviews that include measurements.
It's worth realising that all the Amps will probably be fine. Don't expect the sound quality to increase with price though so don't overspend. Look at the features (Yamaha offers 'Loudness' which is great for quieter listening)

Try a search of this forum, you'll find comments on some of these and plenty of alternatives

Without checking, I'd expect the Focals to have a substantial four ohm content in their impedance curve (please forgive and correct me if I'm wrong here). I'd ask that the amp has a good four ohm driving ability (as near doubling the eight ohm power output as possible). beyond that and hoping the selection of amps don't do silly things audibly when driving speakers, I'd choose on looks, facilities, power output as above, reliability and after-care should it be needed, as well as residuals on the used market should you wish for a change in the future...

Yamaha and Denon have always seemed durable and long-lasting products and Rotel too from memory. I don't know how different the Chinese Audiolabs are from the later UK original Audiolab and Tag models that replaced them. The Technics amps looked smart when the brand was resurrected for amps, but the subjectivists weren't all that keen. Not heard them myself, so it's over to the OP really.

How are you liking these vestia4? What else have you listened to?
