What might be her reaction if you unlocked the basement door ???Thank God that for 19 years my wife has stuck by me (we don't have any money but we are debt free).

WoW! You got a good woman for sure and she's probably a cute Chinese woman too to boot. I have a affection for them for some good reasons too. I'm retired have ~$4500 in debt hanging over my head. I think I can wipe that out in short months if necessary. At the moment I'm just paying maybe 8x the min payments each month so all is well. Got to get ready for ski season. No way I'm sitting inside this winter when it's -30C and blowing outside.Yeah, there are a lot of negatives: I basically squandered my money away and partied like it's 1999 until about 1 year before I got married at 48 and I had to explain why I was a pauper at that point in my life (but didn't even have an ex with kids that took it all.
I had just blown it all on what I wanted to do from the time I started my lawncare business when I was 11 (1968) until I was 47 (2004) and had $76,000 debt.
She saw something in me then that I did not see in myself (and she stuck to her guns and when she realized that I had put $20,000 toward the debt in under 3 years, she started putting like a (one year) matching sum toward it every couple of years).
She did not tell me that she was going to do this and when I discovered that we had a good bit more in the bank than I thought and asked "Where did that come from?", she said: "Well, I saw that you were making very good progress and I figured if I threw a years worth in here and there, that would keep you from thinking that I am working you like a dog. And it will help us get this problem behind us."
I always figured that she was possibly sneakier than me. I think so, yes.
Can't try that, there is a crawl space but no basement. What might be her reaction if you unlocked the basement door ???
I liked snow skiing back when I did it. -6 ends my tolerance for being outside. A couple years ago I looked at my sadly delaminated skis & thought "that's it" and threw all my old skiing gear that I had bought in Innsbruck, Austria, away.WoW! For sure. I met the love of my life one afternoon about 1pm standing at a red light waiting for a green walk signal on Valentines Day at Commercial and Broadway in Vancouver. We saw each other and we both knew we loved each other and so in ~15 seconds we where on the way to bed each other...LoL. I never met nor saw another woman like her in my life. A white brunette young woman. Very sweet gal. I asked her, "Will you be my Valentine?" She said what do you have in mind. I answered in plain English and voila... Off we went. I still love her 29 years later. Don't blow it!Can't try that, there is a crawl space but no basement.
Anyway she told me that, if I cheat, it better be with someone that looks better than herself, otherwise it's completely unforgivable.
& I think, this women is beautiful and gave me half the money that I have spent on us. Has never once asked me for money.
All my un-married life, it didn't matter. But I'm not doing anything to screw this up.
It might screw up for some other reason but I won't be the issue if I can help it.
Haha. @ -30C I'm just getting going. LoL> I was out and about last winter in -37C(About -34.6F.) and it was refreshing in that the wind was nil and it felt OK in 700 down clothing.I liked snow skiing back when I did it. -6 ends my tolerance for being outside. I've only been a couple of spots on Canada: Halifax, Nova Scotia (via a ship on an Atlantic crossing, we could not beat the storm an tied up there for 8 to 10 hours). You are such a amazing storyteller sometimes. I have stories too being as I've been around so many people but your stories are globally wide.
Maybe in clothing that makes me look like the Michelin Man 60 years ago.Haha. @ -30C I'm just getting going. LoL> I was out and about last winter in -37C(About -34.6F.) and it was refreshing in that the wind was nil and it felt OK in 700 down clothing.
I was in the Maritimes of Canada for 5 weeks in Newfoundland which is a big rock but the people where golden to me. I won't forget that. I've been in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland. The really beautiful places are in the west in Alberta and BC I think.I've only been a couple of spots on Canada: Halifax, Nova Scotia (via a ship on an Atlantic crossing, we could not beat the storm an tied up there for 8 to 10 hours).
And both sides of the Niagara Falls (drove in from Rochester, NY.)
A beautiful area. Get out of here before the end of September (IMO).
Funny. People say I look like the Michelin Man when I put on my Marmot Guides Down Hoody jacket which is too warm at ~-20C(-4F). I love it... I hate being cold so I buy the expensive winter down jackets. I reallly want a Feathered Friends 800 down jacket out of Seattle Washington State. It's about CDN $900 for a down jacket but it's the real deal stuff for winter expeditions and getting around town up here.Maybe in clothing that makes me look like the Michelin Man 60 years ago.
There's something goin wrong with your head.Haha. @ -30C I'm just getting going. LoL> I was out and about last winter in -37C(About -34.6F.)
I was born into this environment... It becomes normalized after a few years. It helps that I am very pink hot skinned because my ancestors lived in temperate zones too. I've seen some pretty vicious winter conditions and have sought shelter in deep tree wells to escape extremes winter conditions while off piste and on piste. Snowmobiling and skiing I've been in near death conditions too. It gets nasty here compared to even the great lakes area with the wind and snow storms. There's something goin wrong with your head.
Better look for some help in that area.
In all seriousness, I spent the first 60 years of my life in Chicago, doesn't get a whole lot colder that it does there in winter.I was born into this environment... I would love to live in Florida for the fishing and killing non native reptiles that are invasive. Eat them all!In all seriousness, I spent the first 60 years of my life in Chicago, doesn't get a whole lot colder that it does there in winter.
I always hated it, never wanted to spend any time outdoors doing winter sport things. When I could get down to FL in winter on vacations, etc; I thought I went to heaven. I just love it here, year around. The only way I'll go back north is in the back of a Hurst. LOL
I read about the lake winds and how cold it is. Does it get to like -40C(-40F) or colder. I have not experienced it because it can be localized in the prairie areas to go to -50C or so. The old timers tell me that -40C/F is not that cold compared to what they experienced and they also said the snow was up to the eaves of the houses. I see in the news cold snow fronts of like 4 and 5 deep+ in the Great Lakes area.I spent the first 60 years of my life in Chicago
I was concieved in down town Charleston, SC but born in the Austrian Alps in March, so it was already starting to warm up for spring. Wow... -6 and ima just getting going here up north. I have all the gear for + and - conditions as I live in a purely temperate zone that can go to +40C in summer and -40C in winter and that is +/- 144F temps...Very wild temp swings. I've been in -6 in high humidity Greenbelt, MD (did not like that) and 133+ in a high humidity dessert on the edge of the ocean (I liked that not so much either but better than -6).
I like the islands in the Western Pacific (the average daily temperature change is 8 degrees, if (unlike me) you get up in the morning & it's 75, the high will be 83. It doesn't go below 73 EVER, it doesn't go over 95 EVER. When you throw an anchor into 100 feet of ocean water, you can see the little plum that it makes when it hits the bottom.Wow... -6 and ima just getting going here up north. That appears to be gorgeous weather and as a plussy in that latitude the daylight is near the same everyday so one can get on a schedule and stick to that. That's what a friend from St Lucia said anyway to me.I like the islands in the Western Pacific (the average daily temperature change is 8 degrees, if (unlike me) you get up in the morning & it's 75, the high will be 83. You save a lot of money and space as you only need one wardrobe style (summertime).
