So the treble problem still persists even after the firmware update? @bennybbbx @sivsoft
I think so. The best way I can describe it for my usage is that the treble sort of "wakes up" as soon as the volume dial reaches a certain threshold. It's still fairly quiet, but the volume level toes the line between only being able to hear the music myself and possibly being able to hear it in the next cubicle. I only purchased the speakers a couple weeks ago so and immediately updated the firmware so I don't know how it compares to the way it once was. From scouring the internet it seems like it's much better but not completely resolved. So the treble problem still persists even after the firmware update? @bennybbbx @sivsoft
MMM?Quick measurement of the D3V vs Edifier MR4. NOTE: my room sux and the MR4 are almost double the size
Yes. And I not recommended to buy this monitors. So the treble problem still persists even after the firmware update? @bennybbbx @sivsoft
No the measurements are on axis sweeps at MLP, but MMM is 95% similar result
I think to remember that also some Focal Alpha models had similar, guess its due to the trick for such lower cost class D designs to give the impression of low hiss level.I think so. Interesting. But question in that: why Adam Audio lie to us and tale that this "compact nearfield monitoring system... Designed for songwriters, producers, and music lovers"? Or lie in this: "A signature AMT tweeter is incorporated in the form of the 1.5” D-ART, for the same precise and unfatiguing high-end that the established monitors are known for". If all their modern monitors are like this, then... well, this is a company to stay as far away from as possible. But I very hope that I mistake.I think to remember that also some Focal Alpha models had similar, guess its due to the trick for such lower cost class D designs to give the impression of low hiss level.

FYI i got the revised MR4 which are really flat. Both speakers are great, its amazing how much bass these little D3Vs can pump out.And quarter the price. Charts are nice, but can you describe what it means to you and how they sound different to you?

For me the firmware update has completely fixed the treble problem. Was very obvious (and very annoying) before the firmware update with muffled sound at low levels or treble 'fading' in and out - like described by others here. Now even when playing very quietly the sound character doesn't change at all and maintains detailed and airy highs - and overall I'm super impressed with the sound quality for the size and price point. I run mine via USB-C connection. So the treble problem still persists even after the firmware update? @bennybbbx @sivsoft
Clear to me. But you listen of d3v very loud. One note (not sure it makes a difference though) is that I run them at 100% volume in windows and only control the volume using the rotary controller (usually around 9-10 o'clock position).
You have normal loud +-, but previous question: what kind of music you listen?I also hear speach videos on which i have set low volume (50 db show measure) and it sound not dull. music i like i hear with ~ 75 db , maybe my luck is that i increase volume on silent passages in music i like to reach 75 db because i like it more when alll is play louder. with 75 db because of the 2 passive it give at this volume low bass feeling when have arms on desktop.
Not sure I would call that very loud... For reference, the piece you mentioned above (Tenuous Winners / Returning Home) at 9 o'clock volume position measured average 59.3db and peak 67.9db (using an iphone dbmeter app, measured over the whole duration of the piece).Clear to me. But you listen of d3v very loud.
Please, tell me, what is music of your preference.
Good. Then please tell me, on volume position at 9 o'clock in middle of the this composition will you hear how violins float and tweeter periodically off? Or volume position at slightly more above 9 o'clock? This is important, because on 100% windows mixer volume minimal change position on d3v's volume regulator greatly affects the change in volume. Not sure I would call that very loud... I’ll tell you what. The Kanto Ora4’s play incredibly deep for only a 4” woofer and aren’t appreciably larger than the Adams. If you’re considering the D3V I’d also check the Ora4.I'm thinking of getting these to free up space on my desk. They'd be replacing a pair of JBL LSR305s. I use them primarily for pc gaming, and listening to music (mostly metal). I'm concerned about the downgrade in woofer size, but in reality I never listen very loud with the 305's as it is. Would I notice enough of a difference switching?
This is about my experience. 100% volume from the source (phone or computer) and the volume knob needs to be slightly above 9 o’clock to avoid the gating issue which creates an enormous jump in volume as the tweeter wakes up. Lowering volume on the source and increasing volume on the speaker doesn’t change the behavior.Good. Это о моем опыте.
