I'm looking at an active speaker, this thread is what I was looking for.
An active speaker will have a DSP to keep the frequency response as flat as possible and acts as the crossover. DSP can only do this in the digital domain.
Why is it that many active speakers from Genelec and Neumann don't have a direct digital input? This way, the consumer don't have to waste money on a DAC?
Now, any one know of an active speaker that accepts USB input, under $2k USD?
