Agreed. The hybrid Phillips/Roberts is an abomination. The Robertson, I believe, is originally Canadian. Simple, sensible and capable of high torque without stripping. I think it’s why Canadians are so nice. They aren’t constantly being frustrated by poorly designed screws. ; )

I think the screwdriver head is named after Henry Phillips, the adopter of it, and not after the Dutch company Royal Philips... :)
hey, it's just a photo from the internet! :)
You know what Honest Abe said, right?

Far be it from me to conflate Phillips with Philips, bless 'em.

FWIW, I've been using, and liking, these lately, speaking of screws...

Torx T-25 heads :)

Now, enough screwing around... let's get back to the frivolity jocularity, shall we?

I much prefer Pozidriv anyway. Better grip on the head.
S

I think Pozidriv was specifically invented to be a stealth "anti-tamper" mechanism since they are inevitably at the bottom of deep plastic wells where they will be mistaken for plain phillips and then stripped out with an incorrect bit. ;)

OK, so now I have been called in here due to political jokes. No one seemed to care when Conservatives were the brunt of previous jokes. But now we’re hitting some liberals and that’s no longer acceptable? Really, this is a humor thread. It’s all satire and not intended to be insulting. I give you the same line “Saturday Night Live” uses. If the stuff in here offends you, first get a sense of humor, short of that, don’t come in this thread.

Because I must darn it. Please try as best you can to keep politics on low simmer. If you can’t then at least spread the humor equally
