Yes, ADI's Explore transceiver chip is used. It has not been tested on Linux-based PCs. The tested device types are roughly as follows: Windows-based PC hosts, Raspberry Pi 4, hard disk players, Blu-ray players, etc. , no abnormality occurred when switching channels

Have you posted pictures of the insides somewhere? I would be curious to see it.
I built something similar with 4 channels AES and 4 channels toslink but it is nothing close to a finished device like yours. I used the same EP chip as in the Amazon extractor and 4 wm8804 for the spdif outputs.

I am also waiting for someone to do something like that open to DIY. There is a new board in AliExpress that exposes multi i2s and TDM up to 16 channels, similar to the diyinhk , but isn't cheap...

Why optical? The mini-DSP U-DIO8 will do AES/EBU or SPDIF (coax).

you have interesting products in your taobao shop that sometimes people in the forum search for, for instance your analog (balanced?) to spdif ADC or your Dante card. I would definitely be interested in buying the USB to 4 optical version but to be honest I am struggling big time with the taobao website
Is there an aliexpress link or anything more user-friendly maybe?
