That puts a dent in the Cambridge Audio Evo. Will Roon control the amp volume, ie fully Roon ready?
I would imagine so, the Pro Plus is still in Roon Ready certification stage, as Wiim do not want to cut any corners. That puts a dent in the Cambridge Audio Evo. Will Roon control the amp volume, ie fully Roon ready?
It seems that once a sub is connected there should be a configurable crossover frequency that filters sub and speaker outputs appropriately: link to post on WiiM forumI wonder if it has a LPF for the sub out and a HPF for the speaker out - that would be awesome!

Yes, and I hope WiiM directly sends one unit to Amir.Thank you
So this means that Wiim Amp is actually a DAC, streamer, amp, PEQ (once the 10 bands/channel will be in place) and crossover all in one device - pretty cool!!![]()
That link links you to the...... Twilight Zone. There is already a thread about it

WiiM Amp discussion
For Q4 release. HDMI and USB input Volume control also allows pause/playwww.audiosciencereview.com
If you also wanted to connect a computer.. As is, I'll probably end up buying a WiiM amp for my kitchen and one for my bedroom, but without USB in, it's not much use for my desktop. What do you need the USB input for if you have a competent streamer integrated? In my opinion one optical input plus one analog input should be enough to connect a CD player for example.
You can connect your computer via Network using streaming apps or DLNA. Or via Bluetooth. If you also wanted to connect a computer.. As is, I'll probably end up buying a WiiM amp for my kitchen and one for my bedroom, but without USB in, it's not much use for my desktop.
I've found this to be rather buggy, and just mind-bending when you switch from listening to a zoom call. You can connect your computer via Network using streaming apps or DLNA
In such cases an LDAC Bluetooth Connection might be a better solution.I've found this to be rather buggy, and just mind-bending when you switch from listening to a zoom call.
To be specific, in my case, I have a pi/ROPIEE streamer running to a pro-ject DAC and to Genelecs on my desktop. The Pi uses the USB in on the Pro-ject, so I tried airplay from my mac to the streamer. All hell broke loose when I logged onto a zoom, mostly due to delay/syncing. Also the computer didn't hold the airplay connection as well as I'd hoped, despite very strong wifi. Too much going on.
Airplay and / or chromecast and/ or bluetooth for thatIf you also wanted to connect a computer.. As is, I'll probably end up buying a WiiM amp for my kitchen and one for my bedroom, but without USB in, it's not much use for my desktop.
There are always alternatives, but for system level audio, Chromecast is no use, Airplay's good enough as long as it's a Mac and Bluetooth.. no.Airplay and / or chromecast and/ or bluetooth for that
HDMI ARC input provides the big benefit that you can easily change the volume of your amp via your TV remote. This is very convenient and could be a huge WAF.You could make similar arguments for leaving HDMI out
