You can try going to a store that stocks KEF Reference or something of a similar quality level and then bring a DSP and set the equalizer randomly and give it a bump in the treble at 5 kHz and above. That should give a decent indication of the experience you will get with the Fact range of speakers.

You probably want to put a big dip in the bottom end as well.

Nah, a 'transmission-line' suckout and ripple at 120 - 200Hz, a deep recess in the lower kHz region* making them sound kind of dull and a massive rise above 7kHz or so which is why you never usually toe them in towards you...

*Actually these aren't as bad as the 20.25 models can be judging by HFN tests.

Thing is, these models do sell to our more 'mature' listeners and they look nicely styled as well.

P.S. If the plot above is typical Stereophile, there's no bass as the lower hundred Hertz region is usually 3dB or so higher than it really is as presented.

That's true, my own PMC speakers had the same, a big dip between 100 to 200hz or something. It was a cheaper model than the FACT, but looking at the measurements they all suffer from the same issue.

U.K. company so you know it is going to be poor, ( apart from KEF) .
