Glad Lucy came back; as that story usually does not end that well.Lucy chased a doe this morning, got frighteningly close,
That's a great photo.
Thanks. We went again this morning and kept the dogs leashed in the danger zone. Both showed extreme prey-drive fairly close to where the encounter happened yesterday.Glad Lucy came back; as that story usually does not end that well.
I haven't had very much experience with greyhounds but I am hugely attracted to them.

I haven't had very much experience with greyhounds but I am hugely attracted to them. All the ones I've met seem calm, together and friendly without being silly. They usually look great, though not always as good as Gigi (though we all look better in perfect lighting like that). And they seem to have a sort of reserved confidence that I like to presume comes from the knowledge that they can get away with anything thanks to escalation superiority in escape.
They don't like it too hot or too cold, are unbelievably lazy, very sweet tempered, don't bark, love sofas, don't seem to smell and are very clean around the house... what's not to likeThey need "jammies" and coats and love being under blankets anytime other than summer!
So sorry for your loss .Until Monday just befoe lunchtime I have enjoyed the sometimes magic presence of my Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriver, Frisby.

Here's his obituary from Tuesday:
Our beloved Frisby Grange of Clan Buchanan crossed yesterday the rainbow bridge towards the land of limitless cookies, endless rivers to roam and unimaginable nice smells to sniff.
After exercising an hour of swimming at his most favorable place, the Ile de la Metairie at the Loire river, he suffered a stroke in my arms and was put into transit 30 minutes later. Frisby had been diagnosed with terminal throat cancer & a heart condition just 6 weeks before, but he enjoyed his last 4 swims in the last fortnight - when he was in the water he was such a happy puppy.
We are having a serious heatwave today with almost 40°C (felt like 44°C says the weather forecast) and I would really love to think that he got a rather perfect Au Revoir instead of suffering hours or days under (t)his condition.
Farewell my love.
I have attached some pics and two videos from his last hour of excitement

Thanks for sharing pics and vid of Frisby. It was nice to see him cooling off with a swim and rolling around on a hot day.Until Monday just before lunchtime I have enjoyed the sometimes magic presence of my Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriver, Frisby.
If that's fair then analogously death is the price we pay for life. The only way to avoid loss is to avoid having a thing. As Queen Elizabeth said - grief is the price we pay for love
