A better photo of these two.
Great picture that brings back a lot of memories. I have had a lot of dogs during my life time but the flatcoated retriever I had really stands out. Unfortuneately they are very prone to cancer and mine was not an exception. Thanks for posting this.Family reunion
Imagine bunch of flat coated retrievers with ADHD having whatever is dog's concept of wild party ....

Reminds me of our Freya as a kitten, taking possession of Rogue.
Sorry to hear of this...Well, Potpot (right), the remaining stalwart of the original duo with much-missed Perky, has liver cancer and is taking her last walk tomorrow to puppy heaven at 14. Heart-broken again.Kiko (left) is only 2, so he'll be around for a while.
I’d say his breed is Lucky. Rescued from a pound and given a good life!To visit a new vet I had to fill a form that asked for Zeno's "breed". An answer was required. I think we can have some fun with this.
First, I fed this photo to three chat bots with the question "What breed of dog is this?"
Hahaha! So much fun.

The problem of course is that the question makes no sense and it's a mistake to try to answer in its own terms. My answer, when I'm being as truthful as I can be: Alabama Pound Mutt.
But that's not what people want when they ask the question. So I have a different answer but it is one that answers a different question, something like: Speaking in terms of established dog breeds, describe your dog.
What answers do you offer? To either question?
He's 40 lb (18 kg) and 18" (46 cm) high at the withers.
To get you started, how about: Tuscaloosa Possum Hound?
