Let me add to my earlier post:
  • Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro - bought and sold
  • Audeze LCD-3 - bought and kept
  • Loxjie P30 - bought and sold
  • Focal Clear - bought and sold
  • HIFIMAN Arya - bought and returned
  • HEDD HEDDphones - bought and sold
  • Yulong Aquila II - bought, measured and returned
  • SPL Phonitor X - bought, measured and returned
  • Burson Conductor 3X - bought and soon to be measured
Martin
Daaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmnnnnnnn. What did you think of the DT1990? I'm in the same bought and returned camp as you - I just couldn't get past the clamping pressure, and I found vocals to be really fatiguing.

Bought an Amazon Fire Stick 4k based on forum thread.

This allowed me to add Amazon Music HD to an older AVR and is good enough in my home theater that likely will not upgrade unless the AVR dies!

Hypex FA123 amplifiers, based on favorable review of the standalone modules. That was a good decision, brilliant technology.

Ha! I have the Topping D10s, and I got a Raspberry Pi 4 as a Roon endpoint, and my next big purchase will be Genelec active speakers for my desktop listening. I'm following in your footsteps!!!

Genelec is amazing. If you can go for 83XX models, the GLM is worth the price. Here is my set up. You can start with stereo and one can extend it to multichannel later. For me, it is an end game.

Beautiful set up! I'm considering these for my desktop so 2.1 is all I would need since it will be for my computer. I'm thinking about the 8330 model with GLM. I'd love to consider the 8331's but that is a big jump up in price. Thanks for sharing your set up!

Curious to what degree people use ASR reviews and feedback from the ASR community before buying gear.

For me personally I picked up a JDS Atom, a Topping D30 and a MOTU audio interface based on reviews. The newly reviewed Revel speakers look tempting as well, of course I have no need for them whatsoever.
Topping D90, Topping A90 and Revel M16 speakers.

Revel M105
When I decided to upgrade my stuff a few years back the Revel M16 was one of three speakers top of my list. I got a screaming good deal on an ATC SCM7 v.3 which was above budget at that time. Paid under $1,000 new shipped from the UK to California, so went with that.
Nice to see the PS Audio Stellar S300 Amp I bought to push the ATCs recommended by the Boss (amirm)
Certainly enjoying the M105s

PS - Planning to purchase Benchmark AHB2 some time this year.
