Grado 325i - gave to my son to use when practicing guitar in his dorm
Sennheiser HD6XX - gave to my daughter
Sony WH1000MX3 - used to use traveling, but COVID put an end to that. Currently used by my wife.
Beyerdynamic DT880 - sold, really didn't like the sound profile

AKG 371 - current daily drivers when working
Etymotic ER4XR - daily drivers when outside

also considering buying a pair of hifiman 400i, just to have a planar pair.

After some changes: Stax L300 Limited and Dan Clarke Aeon RT closed. Perfect combo of open and closed imo.

I just scooped up a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 250 250ohm for recording and I've got to say they sound how I imagine a closed HD600 would. A pleasant experience (after doing the cable input foam mod).

Beats by Dr. Dre.

(Juuuuust kidding.)

I don't think there's a sweeter set of cans out there than the Grado 325e, but unfortunately, when I need headphones these days, it's to keep sound either out or in, so closed-back circumaural are required. None of them sound as good as open back phones, but the Bowers + Wilkins P7 brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard Dire Straits on them, and they certainly bring Charles Mingus back to life too. Wonderfully intimate midrange on those.

For Dream Theater, though, I'm gonna want the Sony MDR-1A.

Just in: a Sennheiser hd540 gold (around 1990-ish). Mint condition I am so happy! Just sold: a Sennheiser hd 579 (2018). Owned a hd540 ref II until 2018 when it broke down. I was unable to really get to like the hd579 sound, even when calibrated with Wavelet.

I have the original Sennheiser Momentum which I bought back in 2013. Recently got a pair of Philips Fidelio X2HR, together with a detachable microphone, from my work.

I just got some Fiio FD5's, and after PEQ for some treble spikes, they sound really good. I own Hifiman HE-400i, Sundaras, and RE800s IEMs. The FD5s have both high quantity and high quality bass IMO. Lots of the actual tone and less bloom. I listen to mostly Classical and Prog Rock.
I just got the Fiio FD5s today and gave them a long long listen out of the box and I must say, best IEM I've bought so far. These are a bargain at the asking price, punches way above its price range. I'll see how they sound after 100hrs of burn in.
I have no idea how Fiio just keep improving so quickly, ChiFi is quickly catching up to the western industry in some cases even surpassing them for much more affordable prices.

Philips Fidelio x2 - My all-time favorite v-shaped headphones. I switch to them whenever my head gets warm from using the Sundaras.
Hifiman Sundara - Main headphones that I use
GoldPlanar GL2000 (waiting on the delivery from drop) - That's just me believing the train hype before real reviews were published.

Headphones I'm considering getting
ZMF Aeolus - a replacement for Fidelio X2

I have had -

. ATH-50x (First pair, broke down 5 years ago)
. Hifiman Sundara, great sounding, but uncomfortable (Had to send them back)
___________________________________________

Right now I have the AKG K550 MKII, but I am looking for an open pair.

Been looking at the HD6XX, DT1990 and the HD660s/HD560s.

I have heard that the soundstage of the 6XX is narrow, but would it be much worse than my current AKG 550s?

Other suggestions would also be appreciated. (Under 500€) :D
Yes. I had the 550 and the 650. The 650 sounds nice. But it doesn't sound wide like any other open back headphone. Very closed in in comparison. I compared it against some closed backs which are not typically wide sounding and hd 650 fell into the same league.
